Here we goooooo! NCT's last unit is coming soon and I am so excited to see the process of who is going to be in this new unit. So far this seems like something that is really going to be eye opening when it comes to the way that SM prepares its groups so I am looking forward to future episodes.

I'll try to keep up with these as they come out. Not a promise that they'll come out right away but they will go up as soon as I can get them edited!

I am still sad to what happened with Shotaro and Sungchan but they have finally there own team and they look so happy from the teasers that they released yesterday. I don't know if you saw it but there group name is riize and they have a Instagram account and posted some pictures. In shohei case i think his injury is serious. I remember he said that he had problem with his back and this kind of injurys are serious. I think he need more time to recover. I hope he is doing good and we can see him soon. Maybe he will join the new group later or he will have dj career under SM. It the first time SM is doing something like that. Can't wait for the next episodes. I am happy that there will be no fan voting because these people now how sm is working and can decide what's the best for the group. And I am pretty sure we will get a very good unit. This show will have 6 episodes and it's all pre recorded. The only problem I see is that the show will air at the same time as SM announce the New Boygroup and some people are already hating on these trainees because what happened to SungTaro. I mean it's not there fault these trainees trained hard too we should give them a chance.

Not me and Caitlin having the exact same reaction when the special appearance start to pop off, I also scream when Donghae show up, and Taemin, and Xiumin and Taeyong and Changmin, and on and on, haha I'm such an SM trash 😂🔥, pretty much stand all of their groups 😂🤭🙌🏻

I think not using public voting is definitely a big risk. I always thought the public voting is what made the public (and thus potential fans) be more engaged and interested in the trainees, even if you do get popularity bias. If they can't vote and their opinion 'doesn't matter', people might be less interested. It's also a risk if the judges don't give your fave trainees the points you think they deserve. The judges they choose are confident in their popularity, but it might make for some new haters (I don't know if the other people we saw can also vote, but imagine NCT members voting someone low who later gets into the unit? Awkwarddd). It does look promising tho, and thusfar a little bit more lowkey than other programs. I'm curious to see if we also get more behind the scenes content if they are all living together etc!

I think its good that SM artist evaluate them, personally i dont like global/ public voting from what i've seen so far in other survival shows, sure it gives the groups popularity but not in terms of the evolution of the group, not in terms of how far the've gotten since debut and trainee days, it creates so much drama around groups and members from the get go, much more fan wars, biased opinions based on visuals (most of times), you can clearly sometimes see that some are clearly talented, and their singing, dancing, stage presence are on top tier, but since he/she didn't receive as much as public voting compared to others he/she gets cut and that's a TERRIBLY upsetting thing to witness, not to mention there's also so much rigging going on and some actually end up believing that the own the group or something toxic like that. Also none of the NCT members will like evaluate their performances, they will be either mentors or give them hints on some choreography/vocal/ performance and even if they do at some point in the show that will not be awkward, there's literally 7 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE between them and the current NCT Units [For ex T.Y can give them tips may be on the performance aspect or rap aspect, Mark, Haechan, Doyoung, Taeil, Ten , so many people in NCT & all these legendary groups too (EXO, SHINee, SUJU, RV, GG, TVXQ ) can give them a handful of good advices].

been wondering if you'd react to this cz I WANT TO WAAAATCH so thank you for reacting to this Caitlin. Yushi and Sion were great, no wonder why they were picked to debut, but Anderson and Haruta's performance gave me goosebumps, they were amazing, even tho they've only been training for months. my favorite trainee so far is definitely Anderson, and I bet it's the same for you. I think we have the same taste, cz like, I too am Yuta stan. look forward to the next episode Caity! FYI, the first episode aired on July 27, so thursday, so next epi prolly Aug 3. im honestly excited for this, even though im not a big fan of how SM has been handling NCT recently. i really fell in love w all the trainees so far and im glad they’re all getting a chance to show who they are and what they can do

But actually this is a show made by entertainment, and they definitely have to choose the members themselves, just like before Twice debuted, their competition show Sixteen was also done in this way, it’s different from shows that make by mnet or something…, the group debuted from those shows won’t be promoting as a group for too long; but in this case, this is gonna be a fixed group that will stay active as a NCT unit and also a SM boy group. And in reality, fans vote is actually useless bc most of the people that didn’t even know them will just vote for the good-looking ones and so-called “popular members”, but a fixed group has to debut with a full scale, there gonna be vocalists, rappers…and many other aspects

I'm the second kind of sijeunnie. The one who loves all the units but that is because I was a fan since SMROOKIES 2015. Also, is it just me or does Sion kinda looks like young Jaehyun 🥲🤏 so cute. I have watched episode 2 already and so far I already have my top 4 picks (and they're all Japanese). Can't wait for you to meet them!

Same here! Aside from the video explaining the changes in NCT, I no longer see any updates about Shohei's situation. I hope SM would post a picture of him or whatever to let the fans know what's going on. Shohei is my bias!
