Honestly every time I re listen a different song hits me lol. Sinner is definitely my favorite B side, but each time one of the other tracks comes on I get surprised or hear something new and I love it. He's done such a good job as well as the producers for this. Ugh.

Thanks Caitlin for this review. I always appreciate your real first listen thoughts. I was upset at first because you opted out of the lyric videos, because they do hit different, kind of paint the mood, but alot can be said for just listening to the music as well. Sinner is my favorite, it may very well sound a bit eerie, and it does, but the lyrics would change your mind. I first heard it with the lyrics, and I lowkey wanted to get emotional, idk why...the lyrics are a bit sad and somber, reminds me of Billie Eilish music, and sounds cinematic like music near the end of a sad American movie...but the lyrics...it's like "Blue" on the last album. Bomba is like "Dominos" twin brother, and Slidin is definitely baby brother to Baekhyun's "Drown"...if you dare to go there...hey, Kai's a grown ass man, but Kai After Dark making an appearance surely didn't help my delusional mind...overall a great album, I love seeing Kai push into different sounds, well done Kai. 💙🌺

Loved the reaction! For the lyric video solution maybe try the genius.com translations, its like a full sheet of all the lyrics, so you can read and follow along at your own pace (not sure about accuracy, but maybe its something that will interest you in your spare time).

When you get a chance, look up the lyrics to Slidin'. Kai really decided to remind us that he is a grown man hahaha. (as if we didn't already know?) I always listen to an album a couple of times before looking up the lyrics so I get why you wanted to focus on the music first. React the way you want, we're here for it :)

I personally prefer you reacting to lyric videos because lyrics just give more meaning to a song, even if it isn't totally accurate. I bopped to so many EXO songs without knowing the meaning but only years later realised they were sad breakup songs. Plus knowing what the song means from the start makes relistening a magical experience. It's also nice when it's colour coded and you can see who sang what and the adlibs. Lyric videos are usually uploaded within a few hours which is perfect because then you can scream and express yourself, which you can't do at 6am when the songs are usually released for you. But you should do what you like.

Sinner was my favorite - but you have got to get the lyrics when you can, its an agonizing song. 🥲 I listened to it without the lyrics too the first time . But isn't is amazing that you can get a sense of the song just listening to Kai's voice and his delivery of the melody? Uff..His voice is perfect for it. I'm just so happy for him that he got to do an album of tracks that he really liked and enjoy recording. He has always loved hip-hop since he started his training and eventually debuted. That's why he picked #88 as his number in EXO. The letter "H" is the 8th letter in the alphabet thus paying homage to HipHop #88. Such an enlightened child he was lol 🫶🏻. I can't believe I'm talking about him this way because now look at him hahahaha. ❤️😵‍💫

Totally get that you hate lyric videos, they can be super annoying… however, skipping the lyrics for Slidin’ was a bit of a mistake😅

Yeah I think what I’m wanting to do is enjoy the song and production more and then looking at lyrics on my own. I did that with this album and honestly I appreciated it just the same. I think it helped me no feel like i have to focus on so much at the same time. I understand most may not like that but I think it’s what I want to do right now. I still may use them here and there but I want to start to move away from them all together. With the Adlibs and who singing what…they mostly get them wrong and then I have people telling me how much they hate lyric vidoes and how they get the members wrong LMAO and as someone that may not know their voices well I can’t pick out if it’s wrong or not so that’s also another thing I feel like I’m focusing on. I’ll think more about it but I genuinely think I enjoyed listening more this way 💕

the first few days i LOVE slidin' the most like its perfectly my vibe, but currently say you love me put me on a chokehold. but no skip so far! i really like the chord progression in sinner's chorus it sounds so cinematic like you're in the tunnel way and driving to forget all your problems. so those are my top three i think... so far... ANYWAYS i totally understand about the lyric videos... actually i gotta admit watching your reactions without the lyric videos made me focus more on the production too.. like i heard some sounds and textures that i might not catch on the first few listens... but maybe lyrics videos are still fun for group reactions because we might found out who sang what adlib or who sang what but they're not really accurate too... damn now i understand the dilemma... but anyway do what you gotta do girl! im still vibing nonetheless <3 thank you so much for this reaction!!

Aww, I am glad doing it this way enhanced your listening experience. I understand what you mean, it can be distracting to look at the lyrics while also trying to focus on the sound. You should definitely do what feels right for you since listening to something for the first time is kind of a sacred experience, especially when it's your favourite artists.

I am usually not a fan of trap hiphop music but something bout the way Kai sang this... made Black Mirror creep up to become my favorite song esp the ending kiss like how dare you Kai 🤣 tho Slidin is a close second.. the lyrics does not help either and now i cannot wait for the Kai Film esp since it comes out on my birthday so its gonna be one hell of a birthday present for me!

in terms of the lyrics, i suggest doing what the reactor "dezzy march" does for album reactions. he plays the song, and simultaneously look up the lyrics on 'genius' i think the translation there is much better although, for groups i dont think youd be able to know who's singing i hope u figure out whats best for you caitlin 💘
