This is my favorite episode so far. I love it. Saero is literally the best main character I've seen in all these dramas. We can learn a lot from him. My apologies to people that don't like MBTI, but this is the best way I can explain in. Saero along with his dad are extroverted feelers and introverted thinking. He's an INFJ and his dad is an ENFJ. These types are the most selfless and empathetic people you will ever meet. They prioritize other people and their feeling before societies moral logic. The reason why our main character is clashing so much with so many people is because he's deeling with a lot of Extroverted thinkers and introverted feelers. Which means they prioritize moral logic over other people's feeling and emotions. The way they see things is that if you want to succeed you have to be able to put feeling aside and be selfish. Because logic and money equals power. If you can control people's emotions, and also have control of human basic needs like money food and shelter that is seen as powerful, feeling and emotions don't get you anywhere. To an extent that is true which is why a lot of them become very powerful, like the ceo/chairman. Literally half of the cast has these functions. Yi seo, the chairman, I think the lady helping Saero is the chairman's secretary..?? All of them are ENTJs. We even have Soo-ah and Saero's investment manager also have the same functions. ISTJ and INTJ. But being Introverts they are less up on everybody's face about it. Regardless half of the characters just don't understand him at all. This is what makes this show very interesting. I wonder if our main character will be able to change how these guys function by proving that empathy is the best way to gain power, because you gain alot of people who support and trust you. Lastly I really wanted the chairman to say "As a grow older I become more immature" but he said pettier, I guess that works. But that last scene gives me ebigibies cause it's the clash of two strong ENTJs. I believe in Yi seo, and although she's annoying, I still like her character and understand her. She's very strong minded and that's her charm and why people along with Geun-soo like her. There's gonna be a lot of mind games playing with this interaction and I'm excited.

i absolutely agree with what you were saying at the end. honestly as far as the other employees at dan bam are concerned, yiseo saying sorry and making an effort to do nice things is really all they can expect, but when it comes to yiseo, she really needs to sit with herself and think about what she did and said. not just learning "sometimes you shouldn't say what you think if it hurts people" but also realizing she shouldn't be thinking that way at all, especially for the situation with toni. toni kept saying he is Korean and he is - if his father is Korean he is also ethnically Korean. it doesn't make a difference whether his father is in his life, or if he has Korean citizenship or not, or whether he "looks korean". i was super frustrated with yiseo because she wasn't listening to him at all and even if they weren't acquaintances, it's still the wrong way to think. and like you said, her offering to do some nice things doesn't erase what she did. it's definitely a start, and the employees have to give her some forgiveness because they have a business to run, but i think that in her own time, she really needs to personally reflect on herself (and learn how to make genuine apologies). i don't think yiseo is inherently a bad person, but she is very closeminded and in order for her to actually change and become a better person she needs to truly acknowledge her closemindedness outside of seeking validation from saeroyi. sorry for so many words - i also felt quite passionate about this topic haha. this is my third time watching itaewon class and she frustrates me every time.

also to answer your question about the younger son, he's not adopted! he is an affair child and his birth mother is overseas somewhere, and i think because of the conservative culture I'm guessing the chairman doesn't want people knowing he had a son outside of his marriage, so they don't really treat him well.... also saeroyi's name is pretty hard since it has so many syllables, but it's easier if you split it up "sae" (like tae from taehyung), "ro" (like row from rowing a boat), "yi" (like the letter E in the English alphabet). hope this helps! and again i am sorry for so many words - I'm just really excited because it feels like I'm watching with a friend :)

Im not as strong as you are because when I was watching this years ago I was skipping every Yiseo part otherwise I wouldn't have the patience of finishing this series.

For me, the thing is Yiseo is actually socially inept in a psychological way. 79% sociopathy she doesn’t get the normal way to act. She actually for the first time fell in love and has some sort of feelings to cling to, so it’s a bit over the top since she’s still adjusting (I mean the over protectiveness) she wasn’t right, but she is honest and learning

No matter how many times I watch through this show and watch other people react to it, I still love Yiseo and I never understand why so many dislike her. She has bad qualities and only cares about what she cares about, but I think that makes her such an interesting female protagonist and sets her up for amazing character growth. Compared to other female protags who are super nice and are almost perfect with the only flaw being they had a past traumatic experience.
