About the intros and the outros you'll definitely see things, however for this series that's what you want so I definitely suggest watching them (there is a lot of information). Also the songs for this are some of the best in anime so if you decide to not watch the intros or outros you should absolutely still listen to the songs. Loving your reactions to this by the way!!!!!

Personally, I think the intros give too much away. There's some really specific things that lose the element of surprise if you watch them, and I think they'd be better left as a surprise 🤔 At least, that was my experience with watching them

I agree and in hindsight watching back over them I did get the references but when I first watched AOT I didn't get it when watching the intros and outros, so I think it really depends on the person.

I love that this show has you so invested so quickly, lmao! There are a lot of characters and a lot of stuff will be happening and sometimes this show really trusts the viewer to put stuff together and understand subtlety, so if you want, you can start keeping notes! This will help you keep up with people and important information. The same could be said about GoT, too, honestly. So much happens in both of these shows so it would be worth having some kind of info on hand to refresh yourself!

We're just getting started, it's going to be an amazing ride, I'm glad you're liking it! The information cards given during the "commercial break"/mid-point of the episodes are 100% safe to read; they provide a lot of details about the worldbuilding of the show. At this point, we only know as much as the main characters about what the hell is going on so they're quite helpful! I was originally really into Japanese entertainment before Kpop so I'll try to provide some bits of info to accompany you in your discovery of this culture: - Most anime start by being comics ("manga", so the authors are also called mangaka, "a comic/cartoon/manga artist") published weekly or monthly in magazines and/or sold in librairies. A manga can later get an anime adaptation if it's popular enough. An episode lasts about 24 minutes, and seasons often have 12-13 episodes or 24-25-26 episodes. - The Japanese title of Attack on Titan is Shingeki no Kyojin, or SnK, and fans used them interchangeably. - Opening and ending theme songs are an integral part of the show and fans love to marathon them and rank their favorites ones. It's a great bounding experience between fans and a great way to get acquainted with Japanese music. Rock, or J-Rock, exactly what Yuta does, is very prominent in anime. Very. - The authors and the animation studios choose the artists or bands who perform them, which means that everything from the sound to the lyrics to the imagery is tailor-made to fit specific parts of the show. They mostly choose Japanese artists but multiple Korean artists have done anime theme songs (BoA, TVXQ/DBSK, 2PM, FT Island, Stray Kids, TXT, NIZIU to cite a few). - The aforementionned specific parts can be called (story) arcs. To tie this point to the show, the first 2 episodes of AoT were the prologue, the Fall of Zhiganshina/Shiganshina arc. From episode 3 onwards, we're in a different arc. This explains why an anime has multiple openings and endings and why their vibes can be completely different from a season to another. For a 24-25-26 episode-long season, you usually have 2 openings and 2 endings. The "TV size version", the one used in the anime, is usually 1 min and 30 secs. The full songs can be found on streaming platforms. The artists and titles are displayed in the credits when the chorus hits. - Openings and endings are very important and very fun to sing along but they can contain spoilers if you look closely enough. A solution could be to skip them for now and watch them once the season is over? However there's an irreplaceable joy in listening to them every episode, which later becomes nostalgia. Speaking of spoilers, they can be hard to avoid with series like AoT which contain lots of plot twists (people on YouTube sometimes get too excited and say too much, or some people just straight up enjoy spoiling stuff). So anime reaction channels usually are quite ahead on their Patreons to avoid these issues, or have moderators check the comments first. Well this comment has gotten long enough but I'm always happy to provide more info if needed :) (whether it be about Japan and its subcultures, anime, AoT, or Japanese pronunciation; I've got a whole degree in Japanese studies so we can't go too wrong he he).

If you have no glue of what the show is about and you're not trying to investigate the intro, I feel like you can barely get any spoilers. Besides intros are part of the anime experience too so I don't think she should be missing that. Watching it once won't be a big deal.
