Maggie and Negan's conversations are improving each time because now, they really listen to each other and are ready to trust each other. To make a promise with someone, you have to trust this person. And Negan explaining to Maggie that as a leader, he also wanted to protect his people and to have revenge for the ones who hurt them… He was sincere and right, and she saw it. He's not someone who can regret what he did, but he's showing that he changed and he is here to help.

Leah responding like that to Pope and disobeying him also, it's a good sign. I don't think that she can betray him but maybe at least one day, disobey again. During this episode, we had the confirmation that the Commonwealth is like the old world, even with the bad stuff : money, power, people who are playing with it, privileges for certain people… We can't destroy that community, but maybe we can change this system ?
