Hello !

Bolin, you need to find some character : I love that you're the sweetest guy ever, but you're influenceable, you're following people and right there, ok Varick is fun, but he thinks about his interest first and at some point it can be an issue. And Korra, can you show less character ? We've got it, you're impulsive, you have a big mouth, you're angry with everyone, but here, you can't accept that Mako has his own opinion ?

I don't like the fact that they're breaking up : you saw it, I rolled my eyes, because I don't ship them anymore (they annoyed me too much in season 1 for that), but I still want them together, they're cute. Milo's story was fun and sweet, perfect mix.

I'm still french, so I'm still sorry if my english hurts you.

Korra's back!!! Since you asked in the intro, I feel like the depiction of Aang's treatment of his kids (and the reactions to it from fans) is over-exaggerated. I don't think the depiction in the show is actually that bad. All it really says is that Aang spent more time with Tenzin than the others (which would make sense even just from the standpoint of Airbender training - he's literally the only one who could have taught him, whereas others could have also taught Kya and Bumi). And I don't think Aang would have really done anything in particular to make Bumi think he wasn't good enough - I think that's much more down to societal pressures. Anyway, I feel like this epsiode gives a lot of set-up for what happens through the rest of the season - each character starts to develop their own sub-plot, and lots of connections start forming (like Bolin and Varrick). I agree that Korra needed to stop jumping down Mako's throat and accusing him of not being on "her side". One thing I really liked about an earlier episode, in the South, was when the Southerners asked Korra who's "side" she was on when she was trying to break-up a fight, and then a girl called her "the worst Avatar ever". Both of these is the exact same language Korra used in either this season or the last, so I think its interesting if she can learn to reflect on this. I feel like the break-up here was pretty inevitable (even if Mako didn't snitch) but I honestly still can't decide what the "right" choice for Mako to make in this situation would be. I think I still lean towards his responsibility to tell Reiko about the plan (in part because I agree that its a terrible plan to go directly to the military, even if it is Iroh), but I could still go either way. This is the one time this season though that I feel like Korra could legitimately see this as some sort of "betrayal" by Mako, even if it was the "right" thing for him to do. Also, I just wanted to say, I love noticing all the small details in the show, like how the two "detectives" mock Mako behind his back (in this episode, the one with the Fro puts it up into a spike like Mako's as they laugh to each other). In my opinion, the season just keeps getting better after this point, so looking forward to the next ones, especially the two episodes after the next one!

I have to be honest with myself and say that I don’t particularly like Mako, but I was on his side during this breakup (The key word is “was” 😅). Do you want me to go on another rant about Aang? Or did I already give you too much detail haha? Bolin…honey. A backbone. You need to find one, immediately. We’ve already covered half of why I don’t like this season. The next half is coming—starting next week actually 🥳. It’s all subjective, of course, and I’m glad you’re still enjoying the show!
