Bonnie was a diminutive skinny university undergrad barely 5 feet tall and weighed 100 lbs. after a heavy meal.

Bonnies volunteered for an experimental clinical study of a new hormone enhancement program promising athleticism and overall increase in strength. Far from the cutting edge gene splicing and stem cell therapy research and development carried from GoodCorp, "Alpha" was a precursor to the newer works of the company.

Alpha project was cancelled and shelved after it's prime researcher went missing and the various initial trials of the drug deemed "dangerous". The "Alpha Variance" project was a revival of the same project but with safeguards built into it, where the radical transformations caused by Alpha serum was muted by corrective gene-therapy.

Bonnie here, has ended up 7'4" tall and weighs 380 lbs. of solid muscle. Previously a meek nerd, now, she's turned into a star athlete. The treatment has also brought a radical change in her personality either due to hormonal changes or the psychological affect of such a radical transformation.

Bonnie has become aggressive and competitive, making her the ideal athlete for the university. She's already broken the world record for running and has demonstrated mind boggling stamina by keeping up that speed for hours on her run.

It should be noted that Alpha, the original research of which much information is lost, was made in order to enhance field operatives, not unlike super soldiers, of some private defense & intelligence agency.
