That's a pretty scary title to write out. Heh. Alright so about this - I actually have a personal grudge against Skeletor, it's just that he's one of (if not the number one) character who people would spam impressions of at me at like house parties and stuff when they found out I was a voice actor. The thing about voice acting is that impressions actually aren't particularly valuable for most work - there are like, professional impressionists, but it's a niche line of work and even I myself am not technically specialized for that, I've always just been a VA dicking around with impressions for the sake of shitposting.

Of course I wouldn't shoot down the people doing Skeletor impressions or whatever, I'm glad folks are into voice acting and wanna have fun with it and do stuff, impressions are totally a great way to get into and learn voice acting, and learn a lot about what makes good VO sound good. It's just, well, to be honest, it's kinda awkward to just start doing impressions at people who are really just there to like chill or whatever. I don't wanna sound like a fuckin snob or anything, but I dunno man, damn, I guess you just get tired of hearing the same handful of characters presented to you from dozens of different people and they expect you to validate them somehow at best, or "get them into the biz" or something at worst. It's not offensive or anything, I don't hate those people, I understand where the line of thought comes from, it's just... cringe. I am sorry.

I also dislike how Skeletor's old voice is like, the defacto way people go to voice skeletons now. I remember this one time I did a shitpost for Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san and sorta just did my own interpretation of the character, and someone told me they were hoping it would sound more like Skeletor. That sucks, that's not the character at all. Honda-san deserves better than this kind of treatment. I mean, I definitely agree in some cases - like Papyrus, that just works too perfectly. But damn, EVERY skeleton? It's not right.

None of this shit is Skeletor's fault, I shouldn't hold it against him. Anyway ironically enough my own impression of the character is pretty mediocre - which is fine, I am not even sure if I really want to have a "good Skeletor impression" after all my experiences. But, I will tell you this - despite everything, the character IS very fun to voice, and now that I've done it once, I'm less averse to it than I was before, and would be glad to have more fun with him in the future. I just need to not make myself go through this negative spiel every time I do, or everyone will have a miserable experience.

Oh yeah - one more note. I strongly prefer doing videos in 720x720. I think the square is the ultimate shape for videos. I started doing it because that's what made them kinda show up the biggest on Twitter at the time (still true I think?), but now I find myself genuinely preferring to work in the square shape. Plus, on most apps, any way they treat vertical videos, square videos get the same treatment, which usually fits my short shitposty meme type stuff. However, I am not so religious about this that I will COMPLETELY fuck up a video to force it to be square. In times, like this one, where I can't quiiiite make it work how I want in the square shape somehow, I am willing to go (blech) rectangular. But don't get used to it. None shall escape Cube.

One more thing. Sterling is the best Skeletor.
