I realized it was easier to just kinda remake the image rather than do what I was trying to do with the original image. What I failed to realize was that this meant I could do the video at my preferred square resolution. I didn't realize that until after I'd made the video, and didn't think it was really worth making the video again just to resize everything.

Also, it was important to me that the ringing sound wasn't so intense as to really harm the viewer, so I turned it way down. Just enough to still be audible and distract from the voice, but not actually overpowering it. My standard here was "when you get flashbanged in a video game", I figured somewhere along that intensity would still be safe for the audience.
