I know everybody here already knows about my 'Zine Club, because you're all already supporters, but I am posting here some new comic panels I put together to try and give this thing a little extra push. I would love to beef up my membership, so I put these pics together for putting on Instagram etc. Also, some of you who are already members might not know that Patreon allows you to sign up annually at a 10% discounted rate. So, to stay in the print 'Zine Club for the whole next year is $54, and to join the digital club annually is $33.
A couple updates ago I mentioned that I've recently started on a new middle-grade graphic novel. So, maybe that seems weird that I'm looking to ramp up my 'Zine Club at the same time. But, I know myself, even though I'll soon be able to focus on my new book close-to full-time, I need to still make other small comics that I can publish more immediately. I need that variety, to keep my mind thinking in more than one direction, and, I am slightly ashamed to admit, a little bit of that occasional good-vibes brain stimulation that comes from sharing a comic that gets passed around a little.
On top of that, I still really love self-publishing. I could not be happier to have a book to work on, but I am never not going to want to have somewhere where I can put the comics that are possibly less appealing to a broader audience. The HOT SPACE issue of FUN TIME is the prime example of this, a cartoon essay that had very limited appeal, yet was extremely rewarding for me to work out and put down on paper. This 'Zine Club lets me keep doing that kind of stuff.
