November Ashcan (Patreon)

Reminder that $5 members of my ‘Zine Club will be receiving a bonus “ashcan” in the mail next month. Life During Interesting Times, a small print adaptation of an Eisner award nominated essay I published at The Nib, with revised text and new collages throughout.

Thankyou as always to everybody supporting me here. Seems like my trusty Mac desktop is in its last days and will need to be replaced, so the money I’m earning here will help go towards that.

I talked to somebody at the Apple Store, apparently they don’t really produce the iMac desktops anymore, everyone just uses MacBooks. I might have to go that way myself, but I’m so used to using Photoshop on the big monitor paired with my Cintiq, I’d prefer not to have to change.

A little good news recently on the “getting comics actually published” front. I have a piece going up on The Nib next week which I’m really pleased with, and then this past week I put together a proposal for The New York Times which they accepted! Should be going to print in January. I couldn’t be more thrilled. Imposter Syndrome is real, pitching and selling a piece to the NYT wasn’t something I necessarily thought I was capable of.
