First off, I want to thank everyone for their support this year! It has been a rough ride for me professionally at times, but being able to count on y'all for support has made a world of difference.  Discussions on Discord in particular have been a blast, and it's great to see all the enthusiasm!

Second, the Blade of Highwind is officially out on Amazon today. If you enjoyed the story and have the opportunity to leave a review, please do so! It helps a lot.

Third, I wanted to lay out my early 2022 schedule for you along with my reasoning! As some (maybe most?) of you know, I have spent a lot of time thinking about an Avetharri era story, and that will be kicking off this year. It will open up an era I call the "Reign of the Wyrm Lords." I'm really excited by the potential, and I already have the first book 90% outlined. If the era is successful, I have a lot of interesting story ideas to go along with it.

However, before opening another door, I want to close some behind me. That's why I have already begun drafting Shadow of the Seraph: Union, the last book in that trilogy. It may not be the best business decision for me (since sci-fi usually doesn't sell as well), but I really dislike it when authors abandon something without a very good reason. I've had the book outlined for a while (and I have the cover and anthology cover already paid for!), so it's time to wrap up the tale and set us up for a combined Legacy of the Seraph series with both crews together some time in the future. I am shooting for an early to mid Feb release (6ish weeks from now).

After that, the rest of the year will be a bit open depending on how sales have gone, but ideally there will be a Wyrm Lord book (or two), a new sci-fi series, and a Blade of HIghwind and White Throne book. I have made some schedule changes that I hope will let me shave a week or two off my current production schedule so I can maybe squeeze in another book or two over the course of a year.

Lastly, I know I haven't done a poll in a while, but I will be putting one up in a few days to ask you guys about art styles. I have commissioned quite a few artists over the past few years, and it's not always possible to get who I want (sometimes people are unavailable etc). But I was curious to see who everyone prefers as their favorite style for covers.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

2022 is gonna be absolutely awesome. Can't wait for the Wyrm Lord series especially. :)

Speaking of unfinished work, what about the Dragon Bride story? And is it canon with the rest of the Highwind & Darenthi series?

Sarah Hawke

It's not canon - it was an early work that never really went anywhere so I've just kind of absorbed the ideas into other things. There will be Dragon Brides in the Wyrm Lord stories though.
