Hey AJ, long time listener, first time caller. I love this arc. Truly incredible, and I think 2 aspects of it really shine through when I was watching it. The first is how interesting it is that the archipelago is also a good example of Oda showing how the overall world can work moving forward in philosophies that are held. For an example the way forward into the new world is separated by the unmovable red line and to cross it you can either be the wealthy elite going through the Marijoa or a pirate through fishman island, one located at the top and the other at the bottom. Which is reflective of how fishman are treated in the archipelago vs the celestial dragons. The second is that 2 arc previously in the story Luffy talks about how he had to get stronger realizing the role of “I must fight the big bad” to protect his crew. Luffy has lost tho before and it still optimistic or met with optimism from his crew. But this is the first time Luffy is not only confronted with the idea of him being strong enough but his crew being strong enough to survive. Sure Lucci was tough for Luffy but not once in his fight with Lucci does he doubt if any of his Nakama will fail. He doesn’t even consider it. So seeing it happen? Genuinely made me cry and cry and cry lol Love your videos, they really help me get through my days. I’m a truck driver so it’s wonderful to hear someone do these long in depth videos on a series I love so much. I’m currently about to catch up to the anime but your read through made me love this so much I bought the first 2 box sets and am so excited to read them! Thanks for everything you do! #AJPiece
