Patreon Sales Tax (July 1st) & HDD Backups (Patreon)

Patreon is soon to announce this but since more details are live, here's an early heads up.

Starting July 1st, the site will be required to collect taxes in specific locations and regions based on tier reward descriptions and at differing rates depending on your location. This would be a small tacked on percentage, and some countries they were already required to add VAT to pledges, so for them there is no major change.

I'm not exactly sure if this will affect my tiers much given their descriptions and how I've tagged them. But we'll see how it rolls out & if they update the rules again down the road to be more clear cut for tier descriptions.

I've been on a mini break after the Donkey week stuff has settled down, as my external art archive hard drive started to have issues and I lost a file or two (thankfully nothing unrecoverable yet), I've double backed up the contents of the drive as they are, and hopefully will be able to cloud backup everything fairly soon. I will probably need to take a good couple days to sort through my archives again and make sure nothing is corrupted. But the replacement drive arrived yesterday so I'll just be keeping the problem external drive aside for now.

This next week I'm going to be finishing up a bit of stray work I have leftover that has been pre-paid for in full. Once all of that is done, I'll likely go over my commission forms and pricing sheets one last time before putting those on a test run. I do want to get back on that high motivation drawing spree energy, here's hoping for less thunderstorms and power outages in the coming weeks. Don't need more to risk losing anymore files. x_x
