I think I've talked before about line variation and volume lines concept, but here is a post focusing on these type of lines and tips.

Patron xECHOx asked me to review some of his sketches so I took the opportunity to talk of the topic while giving him feedback (on page 2) about how to improve the line.

The idea of using volume lines technique is to make line width variation with the intention to depict the volume of the form and help give a tridimensional look to the drawing, even without shading.

This effect to the line could be made either in a single stoke (with pretty good pressure sensitivity and skill); or my preference with in a series of quick stokes to give shape to each single line individually (like sculping the line-art gradually).
