In danish it was a common thing to say about high spirited girls that when they finally got married then you said: (insert girl name) is safe in harbor.

As all ships are female, it is a rather… nice thing to say I guess…

Until you read Frank McCourts book - Angela’s Ashes and then you read about what some girls back in the day thought… They became mothers before they became women… scary…
