Wow, did this one take a little longer than anticipated.

Sometimes you just want to make something so bad and when the drawing is in it’s early stages I just hate it. I hate the drawing, I hate me for hating it, and I hate everything. So I distance myself from the drawing - This is rather unpractical when it is a commission work 😑
I have had this issue all my life, my mom and her older sister who are artistic as well, also knows this weird stage in the process. It’s not always the same time, but there is a stage in the process (for me and my fam) where the work feels wasted, useless, hopeless, even uncomfortable. You want to start over, start a new, new canvas.

It takes, a shit ton of effort to get back to that work, when this stage is really in full blown mode.
My strategy in this is work on the artwork, when you can. A half hour there, ten minutes there. Get over the annoying stage, until the drawing starts looking nice again.

You eat an elephant one bite at the time.

To any future commissions out there, I am gonna be extremely sorry when this kind of speed bumps happen. This is mainly why it’s hard to give a time estimate on how long it will take to complete a piece.
I am also always a little puzzled by time estimates - what is the rush? Honestly I know fully well what‘s the rush ;) Don’t worry.
I know the waiting is really hard, I am so impatient myself.

But here is Dany form GoT
(Don’t make me misspell her name, I hate her name, I hate all the names in GoT. Except the Starks. Them I can remember and spell without trouble. But too many of the others have too long and too annoying names that I simply don’t bother and just call them how I see them. Non-drunk, Jaime. Short drunk, Tyrion. Grumpy drunk, Cercei. Fat drunk, Robert. King Justin Bieber, Geoffrey. Male Albino, Viserys. Female Albino, Dany. And so on and so forth)

Anyho.

Here is Dany.
