Greetings All!

Continuing the roll on Darts with a styled Shuriken.

This is a Shuriken largely inspired by my little one binging Naruto while I was feverish on the couch, nothing like passing on some shared entertainment with the new generation. I was happy with the results and loved the idea of an air elemental ability being attached to a thrown weapon. Like most critical triggers, this should be most interesting in the hands of an Assassin Rogue.

Let me know what you think and I hope your table gets some use out of it.

Updates: Variant of single Shuriken!

Truly, as always and ever sincerely, Thank You.

- Hos (Dungeon Scribe)

Description:

These finely crafted shuriken are cool to the touch. Despite their bladed edges, they are an ease to throw as they always leave the hand with a soft gust of wind and soar on the air. They strike their target with a buzz saw like twirl that betrays their slender frame and delicate patterning. The story goes they are instilled with the blessings of an air elemental.

Tabs:

  • These Darts do Slashing damage instead of Piercing.
  • On Hit, these Darts do an extra 1d4 Slashing damage.
  • Spirit of Air: On a Critical Hit, the targeted creature must make a DC:15 Strength saving throw as blades of air burst forth from the weapon. On a Failure, the target takes 3d8 Slashing damage, is flung up 20ft away from the direction of impact, and Knocked Prone. If the saving throw is a Success, the target takes Half the Slashing damage and isn't flung away or Knocked prone.
    • If a thrown target strikes an Object, such as a wall, the target takes an extra 1d6 Bludgeoning damage for every 10ft it was thrown.
    • If the target is thrown at another Creature, that creature must succeed on a DC:15 Dexterity saving throw or take the same damage and be Knocked Prone.
    • None of the damage dealt from this effect is affected by the critical multiplier.
