Splitting Maul: One-Sided. (Patreon)

Greetings All!

A later post today, pulling some extra duties around the house this AM. Luckily, the extra time since Thursday has been put into balancing this base item a little better.

Originally a combination of a Maul/Great Axe, it became a base 1d10 for both sides. This balance with it having an additional property to swap damage types, while not quite as strong as Reach, it still fits better with a 1d10 in exchange for versatility.

Description:

Known commonly as a Sledge Ax, or Hamaxe, these splitting mauls have roots in the very first crafted tools. These heavy weapons serve the function of both hammer and axe while making excellent log splitters. Some even say before the more refined version of these tools came about, these were the root creation.

Tabs:

• This is a Martial Weapon that combines the attack power of two distinct weapon types.
• Dual-sided: During the Attack Action, the user must declare which side of the weapon they are attacking with.
  • Hammer: 1d10 Bludgeoning damage.
  • Axe: 1d10 Slashing damage.
• Heavy: Creatures that are Small or Tiny have Disadvantage on attack rolls with Heavy weapons.
• Two Handed: This weapon requires Two Hands to use. This property is relevant when attacking with the weapon, not when simply holding it.
