Greetings All!

This was a really fun one, and I had been wanting to get back into axes. This being a nod to a few things, but mostly just being in love with the design and effects.

The curse aligns with a Patron that I have long used in my home game, and will eventually share with you all. They’ve been hinted at in a few items now, so I love sharing this most recent one. Perfect for a GM that wants to share more information at a cost.

As always, inputs are welcome and encouraged!

Updates: PNG Variants.

Truly, as always and ever sincerely, Thank You.

- Hos (Dungeon Scribe)

Description:

The metal of this long faced axe is chipped and splintered while still showing the raw ore from which it was formed along its center. Within the fractures of the blade one can catch hints of a light violet crystal concealed within. At times, between the screams of its opponents, one can sometimes hear a distant laugh accompanied by the scratching of stone. It stands as a hallmark from one of the twisted proprietors in the creation of this blade.

Tabs:

  • The user gains +2 bonus to Attack and Damage Rolls made with this weapon.
  • Rend: On Hit, the target takes an extra 1d6 Psychic damage.
  • If the target is Frightened, Rend is increased to 2d6 Psychic damage as they perceive the attacking user as a loved one during the attack.
  • Rending Secrets: When the user reduces a creature to 0 HP, they learn a buried secret of the slain creature. This secret is determined and shared at the GM’s Discretion.
  • Cursed: Once attuned to this item, the user is cursed. At the GM’s Discretion every 1d20 days during a Rest, the user loses the recognition of a face belonging to someone they've met or know. This curse and attunement can be broken with the Remove Curse spell or similar magic, but it will not return the lost memory.
