Twilight's Censer: One-Sided. (Patreon)

Greetings All!

A sequel item to the Dawnlight’s Censer, that grows on its Lightly Obscured status while dropping the damage. Great for protection from range, with a save/limitations to keep it from being overly abused.

Its a bit of a mixture of darkness/smoke mixed with Spirit Guardians, inspired by some quality features in some of the new Paladin Oaths. I hope you enjoy it and I would love your input!

Description:

This metal censer never needs to be emptied or filled. The embedded enchantments allow its nightly use without materials. Its porous dark metal seems to trap light within its sharp and angled depths. Hanging from a two foot long silver chain, this was designed for use, not decoration.

Tabs:

• While held, this item can be used as a Holy Symbol.
• Ghastly Mist: While on the user’s person, they can speak a prayer as an Action, causing the censer to ignite and fill a 15ft-Radius Sphere with odd purple and black smoke, which moves with the user. This smoke causes its area to be Heavily Obscured, and it lasts for 1 Minute. Once used, this property can’t be used again until the next Dusk.
  • The first time a creature enters on their turn, or starts their turn within the smoke, they must make a DC:15 Wisdom saving throw. On a success, they are able to see within the area as if it is Lightly Obscured. On a failure, it functions as normal.
  • The user can choose a number of creatures up to their Proficiency Bonus that are within the area to be Unaffected by the smoke.
  • This smoke can be dispersed by Strong Winds.
