Greetings All!

Another submitted item, with a slightly altered name. This was a fun one to include, even if just for at the table pronunciations. While not inherently sentient, I think dice rolls will eventually make this seem like it's out for your blood.

Unattuned due to the lovely little annoyance of having a habit of attacking the user.

I hope you enjoy it, and as always, thoughts are welcome! If you have any ideas for Item Submittal week, get them in for next month!

Updates: New.

Truly, as always and ever sincerely, Thank You.

- Hos (Dungeon Scribe)

Description:

This dagger holds a number of names. They're almost all entirely a string of curses not suitable for polite company followed by "dagger." From Rascal to Shrewd to Pillock, all of these names suit it, but Mumpsimus seems to be the most enduring. This is mostly because it is uttered with a venomous disdain, leaving almost all users with a wound. It is useful until it very much is not.

Tabs:

  • The user gains +1 bonus to Attack and Damage Rolls made with this weapon.
  • Returning: This weapon returns to the user’s hand after being used for a Range Attack. If there is no Free Hand, it will fall at their feet.
  • The dagger gains the following properties but only when Thrown, during which it deals an additional 1d4 Force damage as it teleports to alter its trajectory.
    • Spell Ripper: This dagger is able to ignore the effects of AC granted by spell effects, such as Shield or Armor of Faith spells slipping around them with ease.
    • Unpredictable: Due to it altering its own trajectory in flight, it is immune to effects such as Deflect Missile or Missile Snaring.
    • Perfidy: If the user misses the target by more than 5 on Attack Roll, the dagger in turn deals the damage of the attack (without Ability Modifier) to the user.
