Greetings All!

Keeping the Common train rolling. I wanted an effect built of an older watchman, one of my factor archetypes for character building. Using a power I think befits the item, and has floated around elsewhere this is the result.

VARIANT INCLUDED: The 1d4 Days is a test to keep it from being Attunement. Letting it be a continuous use did seem a little strong for Common, but as always these need some experimenting before locking it in. This can very easily be swapped to for attunement for balance reasons.

As always, your thoughts, and questions are encouraged in making these better!

Updates: Variant: Attuned and Unattuned Options.

I hope you enjoy this one! Truly, as always and ever sincerely, Thank You.

Description:

These spears were once passed commonly between the hands of guards and sentries, but now they seem to only be possessed by the veterans who are long in the tooth. Well known for their boon to long watches at silent posts or darkened nights, they make a shift more manageable. Hence their tendency to work into the hands of older guards and not the starry eyed recruits. Another rumor is that they are attributed to the phenomenon known as the guardsman's lean.

Tabs:

  • While wielded, the user is able to stand leaning on the spear remaining inactive but vigilant for long periods of time.
  • Stand Guard: The user is capable of remaining motionless but aware of their surroundings for up to 8 hours. If they complete this watch without issue, they gain the benefits of a Long Rest. Once used, this feature cannot be used again for 1d4 days.

OR - Stand Guard: The user is capable of remaining motionless but aware of their surroundings for up to 8 hours. If they complete this watch without issue, they gain the benefits of a Long Rest.
