Mystic Bulwark: One-Sided. (Patreon)
Content
Greetings All!
Finally another Shield! I made it 4 months between them this time, and I leaned into the protection aspects of it. This is taking some bold strides, so it still might get some tweaks and a tier upgrade before finalization.
Protection is a rarely taken Fighting Style, but when used in combination with this shield it can be monstrous and possibly legendary. Halving the speed and a Bonus Action are a fair trade-off for something this beastly, the debate currently is whether it needs trimmed.
While I enjoy the Hellish Rebuke aspect of Pulse, and that it competes for a Reaction Slot. It might tip an already powerful item over the edge. Something for me to think about while adapting it for patreon, so input welcome!
Updates: Updated Art, Energy Touch Ups, Cracks.
I hope you enjoy this one! Truly, as always and ever sincerely, Thank You.

Description:
This heavy shield is composed of layers of metal stacked and bolted into supports, accented with gems and a larger crystal at its center. Akin to a heater shield, this shield adopted the name of a defensive wall due to its transformative state. Known to be carried only by the most elite of guards and protectors of the high courts, it is rare to find one without a defender attached.
Tabs:
- Protection: While wielded, this shield grants the user access to the Protection Fighting Style. When a creature the user can see attacks a target other than them within 5 ft, the user can expend their reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll.
- If the user already possesses this fighting style, it also grants the ally an additional +2 to their AC.
- Mystic Barrier: As a Bonus Action, the user can activate the crystal within the shield, extending magical armor. This grants the user and allies within 5ft 1/2 Cover. The user’s speed is reduced by halve while this effect is active, which lasts until the user deactivates it with a Bonus Action or drops the shield.
- Pulse: As a Reaction, in response to the user being damaged by a creature they can see and is within 60ft, while Mystic Barrier is active. Jettisoning the Mystic Barrier, the creature must make a DC:16 Strength Saving Throw. It takes 3d6 Force Damage and is Knocked Prone on a failed save. Mystic Barrier is deactivated when this feature is used.
