Greetings All!

… I love this one.  I wanted to give a callback to the odd design of the ‘Dwarven Fire-Starters’ as something that is just outside the norm. It is an updated take, with the stress placed around wind, and I crammed as much as I could in there. You have RP elements, and wiggle room as you see fit without being game breaking.

Can it be abused? Yes, but pretty much anything can and it’s balanced to not be earth shattering even in the hands of a min-maxer (we can smell our own.) And it is my first Scimitar (I think) so that in itself is pretty fun, the cutlass aspect just leaned closer when debating it.

It definitely gave me a few different beloved vibes by the end, so I really hope you enjoy it!  Would love to hear your thoughts and input.

Updates: Art Tweak (Blade Feathering), 25ft for flight, Thunder Damage.

I hope you enjoy this one! Truly, as always and ever sincerely, Thank You.

- Hos (Dungeon Scribe)

Description:

This cutlass is elegantly sculpted, with golden feathers rising from its guard and flowing up into the silvered blade. Every inch of it screams elegance and elite craftsmanship, and when held, it only continues to impress. To hold or swing this blade, it seems to bend the air around it instead of slicing through, making not a sound.

Tabs:

  • This weapon grants an additional +1 to Attack and Damage Rolls.
  • The blade holds 6 charges, which can be expended in the following ways. It does not regain charges over time, but rather only when the Replenishment factors are met.
  • Breeze Step: 1 Charge - As a Bonus Action, the user gains a flight speed of 25ft propelled by the blade. This lasts until the end of their turn, at which point they fall.
  • Wind Blade: 2 Charge - As a Bonus Action, the user can summon forth a flurry of wind about the blade, adding an additional 1d6 Thunder Damage for 1 min or until dismissed as an interaction. While active, as a Bonus Action, the user can focus the wind, increasing the reach of the weapon by 5ft until the start of their next turn.
  • Drift: 1 Charge - As a Reaction, the user is able to recreate the effects of Feather Fall spell at a range of Self.
  • Bellow: 3 Charges - As an Action, the user is able to recreate the effects of a Gust of Wind spell at a DC:15.
  • Replenishment: This weapon’s affection for the wind, allows it to regain charges in the following ways.
  • Keeping it in open air (not indoors) over a long rest restores 2 Charges.
  • Exposing it to a soft wind or a cool breeze the weapon gains 1 charge every 1 Hour. if bare in gale force winds, it will regain 2 charges every 15 Minutes.
  • Whenever an attack from an enemy misses while the user is taking the Dodge Action, it regains 1 Charge. This effect can only be activated once per round.
