This is an unedited raw video from my visit to the grave of poet Joyce Kilmer in the Oise-Aisne American Cemetery.   The poem you hear at the end will be read while I show scenes from the cemetery in the final video.

Are reciting the poem from memory or reading something while saying it?

I wish I could say it was memorized. I was reading it from my phone screen.

The First World War produced some amazing poetry from the more idealistic writings of Rupert Graves (who died really before the War really turned into the horror show it did so perhaps can be forgiven) through the likes of Robert Graves and Siegfried Sassoon to Wilfred Owen - perhaps the finest of them all - whose Dulce Et Decorum Est is for me one of the true great poems.
