Even with all the training and indoctrination, after what they went through, of course most of them would need some form of therapy. Soldiers in the real world do after trauma, so it makes perfect sense here. And the difference in atmosphere or attitude is actually pretty common, they may keep up a facade in their day to day life, but they let it drop while in therapy.
