This is a really solid film. I think it must have been one of the few films I'd seen alone in recent years. I'm surprised how long it took you to make the Borderlands connection cus it felt really similar to me, even if I hadn't played it that much. Considering it was basically a 90 minute car chase it did such a good job of keeping it interesting and still managing quite a bit of variety. I think they maybe needed a little bit of extra downtime space which they could have given us a bit more backstory to the main two characters. I dunno if that is in the original though. As you said they got a lot done with not many words which I always like. Max was similar to John Wick in a way with very little said but got the job done. Strong female characters too and honestly I'm not sure I can think of any example of strong old women in an action role outside of this film, which says a lot.

One of those rare films I went to the cinema multiple times for... which is impressive for a film with barely any dialogue and plot depth of a roadrunner cartoon... but that cinematic artistry, damn! Have to rewatch it every time it comes on my radar
