This was honestly so much better than expected and one of my new faves!

I hadn't seen this movie in years and forgot how good it is

Ah fair play. I subscribe to someone who reacts to 50 minute long episodes to a series. Guessing that’s different then?

I’m not comparing the two movies, but I think you’d probably enjoy Braveheart.

Thing is, Snyder is a director universally seen as empowering by actresses who work with him. Hell, when there was a controversy over the Justice League Amazon outfits supposedly being "sexist" compared to the ones in WW, the Amazon actresses not only hammered in support for Snyder's costumes, but they even said they were actually more comfortable to perform stunts in and thus more empowering. He's one of the few male directors who actresses genuinely say makes them feel empowered. So I wouldn't really use the word "exploit" in Snyder's case, the actresses never seem to feel exploited. Plus, I mean, did you see all the slow-mo ab zoom-ins? This movie fawns over muscular men just as much as it fawns over women. It's a bi wonderland.

Gerard Butler was insane in this movie

One of Zack Snyder’s best films. He made all of the actors undergo rigorous training beforehand (I believe he uses the same trainers for all of his films). 300 definitely introduced/ showcased his particular style as a filmmaker for those unfamiliar with his previous work (Slow-mo action, muted color palette). I don’t even need to go over “This is Sparta!” 😂 That icon of a line speaks for itself.

This was an incredible journey to take with you. I'm so glad you enjoyed as much as I did - and I did see it on the big screen. It was incredible, but just as amazing now. I know some people thought it was cheesy and exaggerated, but really, I think that's the point. I enjoyed it for what it was. Thanks for sharing!

What’s the point in subscribing if we have to watch the movie in silence?

I enjoyed this movie the first time I saw it more than I thought I would. The only thing that bothers me is how gratuitously they exploit women. I enjoy sexy scenes as much as anyone, but the gratuity wasn't necessary to get across the point about Xerxes' character, which was already apparent. Rather than being enjoyable sexy bits in the movie, it cheapened it. That aside, I love the highly stylized battle scenes and over the top effects. Rodrigo Santoro did a great job portraying an easy to dislike character and looked great doing it. Lena Headey was great to watch. Theron's character was given a well deserved ending. Gerard Butler performed well and looked good, but surprisingly he wasn't my favorite character in the movie. This is better than the sequel, as often tends to be the case, but the sequel is still worth watching, in my opinion.
