I was surprised how good the premise for this show was, I was expecting just a basic football team anime. Still not sure of the "ego" stuff just yet but it's building on itself over time to what it actually means. The first episode here clearly showed why pure ego is pointless in football. Agree with you that I prefer 1 on 1 sports, feels more like you are learning and competing, rather than being carried or feeling helpless with/against teams
