Yeah one of the main controversies was why is Batman killing in this movie? In defence of this decision he has been Batman for a while and Joker did kill his first Robin in this universe but I still think it would have been more effective if Superman was the first person he would consider killing because of the sheer destruction he can cause. You could even keep the Bat Branding being effectively the death sentence of prisoners but because Bruce himself isn't taking their life it's weirdly fine?

Superman IS the first person he considers killing directly. Superman IS what Batman's been focused on for 18 months, anyone who dies in that process is just collateral damage in his mind. He's not actively seeking out people to kill (Otherwise, the Joker would've been the first one to go. If Batman was actively looking to kill, Joker would be dead and nobody would be branded at all y'know?). It's all just collateral damage in his Xenophobic rage against Superman (Post-9/11 commentary). He's meant to be the villain of the film, you're supposed to feel disturbed by Batman killing. If people felt unnerved by that, the film succeeded.

I’ve always thought Batman not killing didn’t make sense, I think he’s enough of a realist to know that sometimes killing is the only answer. He shouldn’t relish in the killing but he should be able to make the choice to kill a villain to save innocent lives without the audience screaming betrayal.

To answer your question about the bat brand, it marks people within prison,who have been sentenced for rape, sexual absue to children, sex trafficking etc and because this Batman is totally fine with murdering and torturing people, he brands the absolute worst of the worst with a death sentence for them to get stabbed to death by other prisoners, essentially eliminating one less problem

Had no idea wonder woman was this strong!? She's strong as f*ck, almost superman level (yes, he is stronger before people freak out and correct me, I'm not saying he isn't 😂). Wait until Wonder Woman, amazing movie and you'll get it then ✌️

The Batman not killing idea is valid depending on the era amd depiction of the Batman you are referencing. Some of us have seen multiple iterations of the Batman in a variety of media and this older, bitter and running out of hope Batman does line up with some of the depictions this fan would reference as classic Dark Knight.

To answer your question Seb RE: Ultimate Edition vs. Theatre Release: Major chunks of the plot about Luthor's master plan is removed as well as several early lines of Superman's dialouge. It left many theatre and casual fans confused and the Luthor character not fleshed out and distracting with his disjointed crazed scenes. Myself loved both versions, enjoy Ultimate more of course. So glad to see you dive in and enjoy "The Snyder Verse".
