Very surprised they managed to fit all the action in such a short film! Had a lot of fun with this and not sure when I will continue X-men as I did start this in replacement of the Mcu but Moon knight is here. Got alot of other films coming in the weeks to come and would love to hear what you thought of this one!

The Dark Phoenix Saga is one of my favourite stories and there's just far too much to tell for it to be done well in a 2-3 hour movie. I really hope that if they ever bring the X-Men into the MCU, rather than try to cram it into a movie, they make Dark Phoenix into a Disney+ series where they can put more time into it

I'll echo what other commenters have said, if you want to watch the movies in release order then the next one would be X-Men Origins: Wolverine. That movie is HORRID!! On one hand it does provide a little more backstory but conversely it really muddles everything because it breaks SO much continuity. Below are all the X-Men movies in release order. I'll post another comment with chronological order. In the opinion of many (including myself), Logan is BY FAR the best of all the X-Men movies. It's far darker, more gritty and violent than anything else in the series. Release order 1. X-Men (2000) 2. X2: X-Men United (2003) 3. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) 4. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) 5. X-Men: First Class (2011) 6. The Wolverine (2013) 7. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) 8. Deadpool (2016, Feb.) 9. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016, May) 10. Logan (2017) 11. Deadpool 2 (2018) 12. Dark Phoenix (2019)

If you want to watch the X-Men films chronologically, then this is the correct order. The three you have already watched fall pretty much in the middle. Chronological order 1. X-Men: First Class (2011, set in 1962) 2. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014, set in 1973) 3. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009, set in 1981) 4. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016, set in 1983) 5. X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019, set in 1992) 6. X-Men (2000, set in 2000) 7. X2: X-Men United (2003, set in 2003) 8. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006, set in 2006) 9. The Wolverine (2013, set in 2013) 10. Deadpool (2016, set in 2016) 11. Deadpool 2 (2018, set in 2018) 12. Logan (2017, set in 2029)

this would confuse df out of him. the newer movies are in a different timeline because days of future past changed the timeline with time travel, therefore they arent 100% connected. release order is better imo

Marcusinmilw

Agreed. Not matter the franchise, I always recommend people watch films in release order. For some reason, some folks like to watch them in chronological order but I feel that should only be done on the second or subsequent viewings.

Eddyson Volcimé

Days of future past ties up everything. But you have to watch them all in order though 😂

Kevin

if he watches that it better be on the original Spanish audio, dubs are not it.

Why do viewers always take what character's say at face value. Just because the doctors said that the cure (which had never actually been tested) was permanent does not mean that it is actually permanent, The mutant that the cure came from does not permanently take other mutant's powers away, the effects of the boy's powers are only temporary so it would stand to reason that an untested lab produced cure based on the boy's powers are also temporary.
