I love how grounded and mindful Tanjiro is, even going as far as to hold the demon’s hand as it was dying. You would think most characters in that world would’ve lost that quality, so I really think that aspect of his character is beautiful.

How many anime songs are on your gym playlist now? 😂 I think this episode starts to show how kind Tanjiro is. He feels sad even for Demons that have killed a lot of people even those he kinda knows. I guess it also drives that home by showing that the Demon was just a kid when he was turned so it is almost sad where he's ended up. I guess basically every Demon starts out as a human and just can't control their hunger, probably easy to forget that sometimes for those killing them

I think the human soul is still trapped within the demons suffering. All he wanted was to be able to hold his brothers hand again but the twisted nature of the demon manifested this resulting in him becoming the many hand demon
