Is anyone else having trouble getting sebs video to sync with the movie? I'm watching the movie on Hulu but no matter how many times I try to pause and get the movie to catch up it somehow is slower than sebs video?

The movies get stronger as the story goes on, the first was definitely the weakest of them all.

oh I dare you to dress up as her 😈 Film polls and stuff should be fun, not had one in a good while. I guess people wouldn't request a poll when they can just request the film they want to see 😂 Twilight could be fun, I don't think I ever watched all of them, a friend got me to watch a few of them in a row when I was younger. Speaking of younger, there was a load of random actors in this that have gone on to do other things. Jack Quaid for one, I didn't know he was younger than me 😅 lol. I think Hunger Games is supposed to be "young adult" which often brings a bit extra than just standard teen stuff I guess. I do enjoy the Hunger Games though, feels like something you could watch over and over again pretty easily. One a week or one every two weeks, whatever is fine with me. Maybe watching them non-consecutively would make it feel a bit more impactful, not sure. FYI for some reason the 4th film doesn't seem to be on Netflix, but is on Prime, so stupid when they do that lol

Did you watch this sped up or something? It's like we are watching two different films or something with it going out of sync every 30 seconds or so. Oh well, it was a nice try I suppose. I'll take your word on this one because a watch-along is not practical like this. Hope you enjoyed it. 👍🏼

Only on this rewatch did I realise the woman who creates the dogs etc is the actress who plays "Hunter B-15" in Loki.

It's the classic 0.96x speed thing, so weird that there is two versions of most things, think it's just an SD vs HD type thing, keeps a few more frames in tact that adds up over time

I'm assuming the time difference all the USA viewers are having is because the UK version was edited down to make it more kid friendly. They cut out most of the blood and more graphic stuff like Cato snapping that one kids neck, showing more of Katniss tending to her burned leg, and Thresh smashing Clove's head into the Cornucopia but the UK version doesn't show the 3rd killing blow where you hear the 'crunch'. The last scene where they fight Cato on top of the Cornucopia also has Cato covered in blood in the US version but no blood in UK version. Seb, can you confirm if you saw blood or no blood on Cato at the end?

It turns out if I play the movie with VLC, it has a setting to adjust speed up, with precision up 0.01. So I can set it to 0.96.

If your movie is slower than the one Seb is watching and you're able to open it with VLC player, there should be a menu called playback that has a slider where you can adjust the speed. Set it to 1.04 and I think it should work, it did for me. Note that I'm on Mac, so I don't know where exactly the option appears on Windows.

Everything you said was on the UK Netflix version. It's not a different version in the sense of edited, it's just a different version in terms of frames or something. Seems to be like an SD vs HD or HD vs 4K type thing. Always ends up being about ~0.96x speed difference

I was wrong about 2 things. First, the precision is 0.04, not 0.01, but that's enough. Second, I should set it to 1.04, not 0.96. And it worked.

To anyone wondering based on these comments, I watched along with netflix UK and it was perfect. @Seb -- I have seen other patreon peeps telling us where they are watching and the exact runtime, you should consider this in the future. Lots of different streamer places and of course cinema/extended/dvd versions out there on some movies.

Yeah I know :) I was not sure if Seb mentioned it was on netflix at the start (he probably did), but just letting others know there is no issue using it in the UK. I was about to use my blueray DL version but instead went to netflix, others might do the same.

If you have a Netflix account you can also use a VPN set to the UK to gain access to the movie on Netflix.

For anyone that is having trouble syncing to this video. If you have a VPN change your location to UK-London. Log back in to your Netflix account and search hunger games it comes right up and is the 2Hr 16 version. Hope this helps!

The sequel is the best film out of every movie - and is still one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time. The acting and the cast blow the second movie out of the water. (also the books were phenomenal - the books are one of the few good book to movie adaptations)

It’s very weird because on movie time info on Hulu it says 3hr 1 min but the actual time play is 2:22:30

I’m so so excited your watching these films. Everyone should. I see so many reactors reluctant to watch The Hunger Games series because they think it’s just a “teen” story. It’s so hard to describe The Hunger Games to people without giving too much away. It might have a teenage girl in the lead but it’s so much more than that. I think it’s such a relevant and important story especially in these scary, modern times. Hope you enjoy!

For anyone still looking for a good version of the movie to sync it up. The Canadian version on Netflix (use your VPN to change it to Canada) and it is the 2h and 16 minutes version so syncs up perfectly!
