Not sure if you were able to fully wrap your head around the information after watching this, so I’ll try to break it down. For example: when Ymir was turned into a Titan, she couldn’t transform back into human form. The only reason she can now is because she ate one of the transforming Titans (Annie’s comrade) while he was in human form. Furthermore, IF that transforming Titan were to have a power, she would have gained that ability as well. Which is why Eren is an even bigger target now because we now know he has the power to control Titans. If a Titan were to eat him, they would gain that power.

I think you pretty much got the jist of what the explanation was and Jeff has given a long explanation so not much else to say on that. I was thinking during that why Gandalf titan didn't gain Eren's powers when he ate him, but I guess it has to be the whole human and Eren had already lost an arm and leg I think. You wanted more information and they are just throwing it at you with these last two episodes 😂

To simplify things, there are pure/mindless titans (the ones wandering outside the walls) and there are special titan's aka the titan shifters (examples are Eren, Reiner, Annie, Berthold, Ymir). If a mindless titan eats a human who is a titan shifter, that mindless titan turns back into a human, and they gain the powers of the titan shifter they ate. Just like how Ymir was a mindless titan, but she ate Reiner's comrade (who was a titan shifter), and she turned back human and gained his titan shifter abilities

if you go back to the previous episode, when Hange and Levi were torturing the MP guy, he mentions torturing and killing “a teacher who knew too much” (Erwin’s dad), “a couple who tried to fly away in a hot air balloon” (I don’t have a fucking clue EDIT: they were Armin’s parents and now I’m sad), and “a whore” (Historia’s mother) ALSO MAYBE THIS WILL HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE INTELLIGENT TITAN THING *fictional scenario* if Mr. Bean titan ate Eren as he was having a nice little stroll in the forest (in his human form) Mr. Bean would then turn back to his original human form and be confused as fuck as to where he was and what he’s been doing. he’d then later realize that he can now turn into the intelligent Titan that was Eren and be ripped as fuck too 😮‍💨

If you are a dumb titan as we have seen millions of during the show and you eat someone like eren, Reiner, bertholdt, Annie, Ymir or the beast titan guy, then you would return to being a human and have gained the titan power of the person you ate. For example if you ate Reiner you would become the armoured titan and have the ability to transform like him. Ymir was a dumb titan as we saw in her backstory, she ate reiners friend marcel and then returned to being a human, therefore marcel must have owned a titan power which Ymir stole. As of right now Ymir’s titan power has an unknown name

adding on this, if you want to guess the name of the titan and its possible abilities. Just watch ymir, her titan form and what she does. The titan names are usually pretty simple to guess. Armoured being made of armour, colossal being large, female being well a female.

Great episode. A bunch of interesting new information in this episode. There's some titan lore that should have a lot of impact. And a bunch of revelations regarding politics, present and past.

I'm sure as shit looking forwards to the next few episodes. While the lore gets deeper and deeper, there are more new and important scenes that play out before the opening, and since you skip past the opening sometimes, I thought it'd be easier if you had a list to help. The episodes that have new content before the opening for season 3 part 1 are episode 4, 6, 9, 10, and 12. While I'm here, for part 2 I'd highly recommend you skip the opening when you can, it has some pretty big spoilers in it if you pay enough attention, though for episode 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9 there is new content that's either before the opening, or there's just no opening
