Waited so long for this and wow this is easily one of my top favourite marvel films now!

Looking kinda drippy in that shirt though I wonder what website you can buy it on.. :)

Hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I did and super hyped for HAWKEYE next week!

It’s about time you got to this one! 🙌🏽 (Every time you delayed screening this, I think I died a bit inside 😂) I LOVED it. Top Tier Marvel for sure 👌🏽 The different ways that the Ten Rings were utilized 🤭🤩 I can’t wait to see what’s in store for that weapon in the future. Xialing, Shang-Chi’s sister, was a standout for me. She was so badass and had such a commanding screen presence (it’s crazy to me that this is the actress’s first film role!!! 🤯🤯🤯)

One thing I love about this movie is they don't have Chinese characters talk in English to each other for absolutely no reason. And, from what I've been told, it does a good job at portraying Chinese culture. In a more mundane consideration, holy shit that bus scene.

Yup, you pretty much watched Hulk 2008 to see the Abomination show up in Shangchi for 30 seconds lol, for you it was mere weeks, but for us it was 13 years so that's why we were flipping out when we saw it in theaters/the trailers.

He gotta do it fast then cause Disney bought back the distribution rights and all those shows are leaving Netflix and Disney still hasn't announced where it's going yet. Which granted, is good for the future since Disney getting back distribution rights (They already had the character/story rights, just not the footage itself) means they could literally make "Daredevil Season 4". Which they probably will since Feige hates reboots and the Netflix shows were already in the MCU. They won't have to ret-con or reboot them anymore.

Wow this film was awesome. I love martial arts and a lot of the fights were amazing. I was also somewhat expecting like an urban city martial art film but they brought so much mystical stuff and history as well which was great. Pretty much every character was great as well, I think Katy was probably my favourite and I agree it felt like Shang-Chi didn't stand out amongst them. All the stuff about watching Hulk and it was all just for that 😂 I am slightly worried with what Phase 4 has setup as it feels like a very different universe to before and a lot of these films brings a new secret army of strong soldiers and so far some crazy strong new superheroes. If they can hit it right though it will be really awesome. Just not sure how they can balance all these crazy power levels for the future. Multiverse as well brings so much possibility. This film though has got to be one of my favourite from Marvel now. I really loved this and can't wait for more. Merch! I hope we are getting some Yip Yip for tomorrow 😁 I want to see them in all their glory!

You should watch like 3 or 4 episodes of daredevil before nwh and hawkeye you can do them off screen just for context

The rings make him sort of immortal and grant him physical protection above the average human but idk if is as strong as someone like thor/captain marvel, we'll see tho

The stunts were choreographed by Brad Allen and members of Jackie Chan's stunt team and they take a lot of inspiration from his movies, like the fast paced fighting and using objects and the environment to defeat opponents. The Ta Lo fighting style is very much like Chinese films that use the wushu style (think 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon', 'Hero' or 'House of Flying Daggers', which I would all recommend you watch). Unfortunately Brad Allen died 9 days before the release of Shang-Chi. It's funny that you say the creatures of Ta Lo remind you of WoW. Of course it's the other way around (I assume you figured that yourself as well). The 9-tailed foxes are called Jiuweihu, Morris is a Hundun, the horses are based on Qilin, the lion-like creatures on Fu dogs and the fiery birds are either Zhuque (vermilion birds) or Fenghuang (Chinese phoenixes). Maybe the beacon in the rings is what calls Kang to the MCUniverse. Part of me is hoping it could also be how they bring Galactus into the MCU, which I truly hope they'll do some day. I have a feeling it will be a cosmic thing again, but considering the focus on the multiverse in Phase 4 it might be a beacon that crosses the boundaries between universes. In true Marvel fashion we'll have to wait and see and all we can do for now is speculate. I don't think we'll have to wait for a huge crossover event like Infinity war or Endgame to see Shang-Chi again. If they're going to do something like that again, there will be a lot of build up before it and we'll probably not see it in Phase 4 (which seems to end with the Fantastic 4 movie, which I'm extremely hyped to see, hoping it will finally be a worthy adaptation of Marvel's first family). But now that the MCU is firmly established and characters from different movie lines appear together without massive team ups, Shang-Chi might appear in any Phase 4 movie, or a 2nd movie of his own in Phase 5. Who knows?

Seb if you watch a few Daredevil episodes I suggest that you tape your reactions to them and save them in case you really like the show and decide to post them. If not no big deal. The next marvel disney plus show is Moonknight or Ms Marvel at the end of March if I remember right. You mention Godzilla during the dragon fight. In the 70's Marvel did a Godzilla comic and he fights The Avengers!

"What's with the beacon?" We have no idea. I've seen people with ample knowledge of the comics talk about it and even they have a various completely different theories of what it could be.

Daredevil, along with the other Marvel Netflix shows and several others including Agents of SHIELD, are all still canon in the MCU currently even though a lot of fans are convinced they're not. For the most part they're good shows and I encourage you to watch them whether you're doing reactions or not, ESPECIALLY Agents of SHIELD which in my opinion is the best MCU tv show that's been made, period, even before the series in 2021. Hawkeye is awesome though can't wait for that!

"I wonder if we've seen anyone with that tattoo..." Yes, in Ant-Man for example, but the Ten Rings have been in the MCU since the very beginning, starting with IRON MAN. My bet is that the rings/beacon will have a connection with the Eternals/Celestials in some manner down the line. Then again...who knows.

I'm so glad you loved Shang-Chi! It's easily one of my favorite Marvel movies, and arguably the best origin story in the franchise since Iron Man (which, ironically, is where we first saw the Ten Rings--they're the terrorist organization that kidnapped Tony). We've also seen members of the Ten Rings throughout the MCU. There's even a guy in Ant-Man who has the Ten Rings logo tattooed on his neck! Great reaction, man. One of my favorites of yours. So excited for you to jump into Hawkeye this week!
