There were small hint in episode 3, that there are multiple timelines running. Major hints in the previous episode but the confirmation really is in this one 😊. I think I got it when Gerald claimed the Law of Surprise in the last episode and Celanthe saying something like they will be bound by destiny. Because that’s the exact same thing she told Ciri before sending her on the run in the first episode. Really enjoying rewatching this for the first time together with you! I’m still catching stuff I missed the first time.

Yeh I would think I was the same with realising it with Geralt and the Law of Surprise in the previous episode. We were never introduced to the mum/dad before that and wasn't sure what was going on with the timeline fully at that point, so was confusing until that connection became clear.

Don’t feel bad about not realizing that there were different timelines taking place in the show. Honestly, If you REALLY paid attention to every last bit of dialogue you could POSSIBLY figure out in the first or second episode that Gerald and Yennifer’s stories actually take place in different times in the past and that Ciri’s is in the present. See, Technically, there are 3 timelines, 1 for each main character. Yennifer’s mage origin and subsequent transformation is the furthest back we go in the past. Geralt’s story of Renfri followed by curing the Striga are also in the past but not quite as far back as Yenn’s stories. Geralt and Yennifer’s story then actually merge to one timeline in past when they meet in ep 5. MOST people didn’t realize there were separate timelines though until episode 3 or 4. I realized it in episode 3 because in that episode we see both Young Foltest and Adda with their mother who speaks to Tissai at the mages ball in Yennifer’s story. However, then we ALSO see OLD King Foltest in Geralt’s story who was in love with and sleeping with his sister Adda, and was cursed with a Striga for a daughter. We know it’s the same people that were the kids in Yenn’s story because Geralt and Triss look at the painting of those two blonde little kids hanging on the wall in the abandoned castle. In episode 4 we see that Queen Calanthe is alive, therefore, it’s before definitely before the nilfgard attack. We also see princess Pavetta -Ciri’s mom who looks exactly like her😉. Pavetta is pregnant here with Ciri’s so this is about 13 years before Ciri’s current timeline. And we learn why Geralt is Ciri’s destiny and vice versa (The “girl in the woods” is your destiny was the prophecy by Renfri).
