Joe

and just for the record, I am weeping with you and I agree with you 100000%. this hurts!!! FUCK

Joe

Okay. Episode after feels. I love that Daemon was like “fine, I’m gonna take me, my side piece and my dragon, and LEAVE!!!” Lol that wasn’t his wife, that was the prostitute. He hates his wife but this woman intrigues him. The queen dying! I don’t wanna talk about it cuz you know how I feel; I would choose the one I know and love. I am really excited cuz it seems like they are really paying respectful attention to the books n lore. Also, just an fyi…Targaryen’s are immune to fire as well as....practicers of incest and polygamy (multiple spouses) in other words? LOTS of sister-wives and brother-husbands. You have to think, back in those times, BLOOD was everything. And the purity of it was even MORE important. You saw what happened? The King chose to save the baby and not his wife, because of the importance of carrying on the bloodline. They don’t wanna taint the 'Dragon’s Blood' with that of commoners blood. Cuz they believe they’re descended directly from gods. Oh man. #BlackSheepGang here we go!!! Also, I’m not gonna spoil anything (cuz all I know is book stuff) but Daemon’s dragon? Is reallllll ignorant lol can’t wait Auntie!!! You’re awesome!!! Thank you for all your hard work.

Yup..and in real life that keep the bloodline pure incest made people look like how the Tudors did and not the Targs. It feels like in the 100 years before the events of HOD that it may have finally gone out of fashion for the most egregious incest marriages like brother/sister. Clearly uncles/aunt's/cousins still a thing but that's the impression I get, that it's like ~a little less than old Valyria times. Also big excite, my favorite reactor covering the show I'm most excited for atm 🥳

You made me cry with this reaction!! The birth scene... ugh that was hard to watch.

⚜️ The king loved his wife very much. The queen was going to die anyway, the baby was breech. The only 2 options that the king was given was: 1) let them both die, or 2) try to save the baby by Caesarean section. Either way, he was going to lose his wife. A 3rd option would have been to tell his wife the situation was fatal for her either way, but that they could try to save her baby, instead of just doing it without telling her which was terrifying for her.

⚜️ Daemon was not blindly killing and maiming innocent people throughout King's Landing. Many of those people were criminals, the guy that was castrated was an "accused" rapist. The whole thing could have been handled differently, but I don't feel like it was done as some sort of demonstration directly against his brother, King Viserys. Possibly a message to certain people on the Council that's he's not going to fall in line.

Anonymous

with respect, I don't think we know that, that the people rounded up and murdered/cut up were all guilty. It could very much have been randos grabbed off the street but just being branded as certain crimes, to send the same message to the people of Kings Landing. broken windows policing ye olden style. OR it was a list of people at least deemed to be guilty that they had decided they were gonna all round up during a raid and make a public violent statement, or a mixture of both things. And definitely think it was message to anyone on the small council including his brother, that if they think they can control him they're wrong and that he's going to do what he wants. He's fully enabled and comfortable to be judge jury and executioner

Joe

Omg. Seriously? Was there ANY thing they could have done that would have saved the Mother? Or would it really be a death sentence like that if the baby is breeched? Back in those times I mean. Gosh. I’m so thankful for y’all. This episode was hard to watch.

Anonymous

Nothing. A breech position was a death sentence for both mother and baby before relatively modern surgical techniques. (I'm an RN, I work in surgery.) The baby dies due to lack of oxygen and the mother bleeds to death. It is very gruesome, painful, and tragic either way.

Joe

ohh my gosh. how awful. I couldn’t even imagine. Thank you for all you do ❤️ seriously, there are no words to say how awesome you are hehe It’s my own ignorance but for some reason, I thought it was the Kings arrogance that let the both die. But now knowing that there truly was nothing they could do? Omg. I couldn’t imagine. I’m terrified of death and the birthing scene is just so intense. I said it before but thank you miss Cindy. Nurses are the REAL MVP’s Hehe

Joe

I’m sorry. But I am rewatching this and this comment miss Cindy, just breaks me. There was some part of me that thought “there was something that could have been done, right?” And then just…no. Man. What do you even do? What do you even say? Those times were scary.

Anonymous

Agreed. I've watched it a few times myself. I wish they could have handled the scene better, but it's GoT. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They couldn't give her much "milk of the poppy" for pain because it would cross over into baby's blood and stop baby from breathing after it was born. (Might be what happened to baby? Now I have to watch it again, ugh!)

Joe

Omg you’re right?! I never thought of that!!! That’s probably what did it!! And I also realized the scariest part for me, if I was Queen Emma…when she didn’t know what was happening and all of a sudden, ALL the meisters just…oh god…yank her down, from care and queens comfort to now? she is just…the thing keeping the heir in. Oh gosh. How awful. I’m with you. Just kill me then start Omg. I don’t know. This was rough? Do you think this is really what they would have done back then? Omg

Joe

Also, miss Cindy. I just had this thought; what would YOU have done? Like, what would have been ‘best case scenario?’ I can’t even imagine how hard this would be back then omg
