I like the fact that the movie shows more than one point of view. So that you get a 360 point of view of the storyline

This movie was adaption from a set of novels. The Jackie Brown character was a white woman named Jackie Burke, but Quentin Tarantino changed the race so he could cast the famous Pam Grier, and changed last name to Brown as a nod to her most famous role "Foxy Brown" (not the rapper lol, although that's who the rapper named herself after and Quentin even used one of her songs during the scene with Max in the music store). Pam Grier was a huge actress in the 70s, a queen of blaxplotation films probably our first black action heroine actress (known for roles like "Foxy Brown", "Friday Foster", "Coffy", "Black Mama, White Mama"). She was known for her beauty, sex appeal, and all around badassery. Men drooled over her and women wanted to be badass like her. Her career was on a decline in the 80s and 90s. She has apparently auditioned for a role in Pulp Fiction, but didn't get it. Quentin still really wanted to work with her as a was a huge fan (Pam said he had her posters of her films on the walls when she came in for an audition) and made this screenplay with her in mind for the role. Quetin was upset that she didn't get an Oscar nomination for this role. This movie revived her career. She even played in the ground breaking series "The L Word" in the 00s. Pam Grier is an absolute icon...

This is my favorite Tarantino movie. It's so cool that the big-name stars DeNiro, Keaton etc have supporting roles while Grier and Foster are the leads. The name Jackie Brown came for a 70s film "The Friends of Eddie Coyle". Jackie was a gun dealer in that movie. Some of my favorite moments: When Maz meets Jackie for the first time - great music. Max in JAckies apartment the morning after he bailed her out; It's got all the hints that they are lovers but they're not. Odell turns the lights out o Jackie at the beginning. At the end Jackie turned the lights out on Ordertll in Max Cherry's office.
