Part 2 here

A friend of mine is raising funds to go to university and asked if I could help sell their old games to aid with that. Naturally, I said yes, but some of the items did need cleaning off and some didn't function at all. I asked if they would like me to make a restoration video which would also be posted here, and they happily gave their blessing. This video then came to be.

The entire lot is mostly old DS games, alongside a vibrant Gameboy Color, as well as some accessories. I had the tools to address the DS games in this but will need to buy a battery for the Pokéwalker and prepare some other things to fully address/fix the Gameboy Color. So, there will be a part 2 next month.

I really enjoy restoration videos, and while this is an extremely simple one compared to others (especially those ones addressing fine art or full broken console repairs), it brings me a lot of happiness to see the process of these items getting a second life. I sell mostly to local buyers and, if properly restored, this lot can sell for around $400-500.

Hope you enjoy the video, and have a great day/night!

this was so fascinating to watch! i’m not much of a gamer, but i did have a DSi as a kid and i definitely remember playing nintendogs on it, good times 😊 it’s great that you were able to get most of the games working! hopefully you can get the gameboy color to work as well, and i’m looking forward to seeing the restoration process for it too :) thanks for sharing and have a great week! 💞

It is pretty interesting, isn’t it? Some restoration videos show different items that looks like they’ve been thrown in the garbage, run over by a car, and deep-fried, and sometimes they can even be brought back… While I could never do/bring back something that scale, it’s wild that it’s even possible in the first place. I am pretty hopeful with the Gameboy. I tested the battery with a multimeter and everything (I’ll do it again in the part 2 of this to show it off) and couldn’t find any issues inside anywhere, which is good, so hopefully corroded/rusty contacts are causing the issue. Or maybe not!! We will see. Wishing you a sweet week as well!
