Reader Questions for July 4th-8th! And with that I'm ready to go on my trip! Hooray!

1. I had fun researching different bear creatures for this. John-of-the-Bear is a strange one, considering how important and influential the story is and I had never heard of it before. Anyway this version is just a guy who is also a bear. I imagine Otsos as traditional people who live simple lives in the woods away from technology or modern conveniences, and they don't get out much.

2. Serpopards are an ancient species that were some of the first to get medallions, but you don't see them that much in Avalons. Actually you might see them in Avalons, but their midforms often make them appear like regular lions, as having a super long neck makes for some awkwardness when navigating spaces made for humanoid-shaped beings.

3. Nemean lions in general are known as good huggers. Bugbears also give good hugs, but few people want to chance something horrible happening to them to get a hug.

4. The Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus is absolutely a real creature.

5. Dr. Wes has a lot of thoughts about how exactly magic and medallion magic interacts with different species to result in children and will ramble on for hours about it. Unfortunately, it's not like there's been any real scientific studies done on these sorts of things, so all the information is basically reduced to hearsay and anecdotes.

Yay, bears! :3 And how fascinating, John-of-the-Bear seems to have spread all over continental Europe and followed the Europeans overseas, yet never made its way into Scandinavia...

Are there North American Keoonik & Kushtaka or Kooshdakhaa in the Skin Deep verse? Or any other Otter based beings?
