Lovecraftian critters aren't for sure in Skin Deep because I haven't really read enough about the lore to know much about it, but also because copyright around Lovecraft stuff is really murky, with some stuff being in the public domain and some stuff still being under copyright. That's a lot of work that I would just rather not deal with!

Greg is more of a webcomic man rather than a Marvel or DC guy.

I'm sure most feathery mythical creatures keep close tabs on their feathers so they won't leave huge weird primaries all over the ground, but in the rare cases that a human finds them, they'll usually just go "woah big feather" and not think further on it. There's a reason why the mythical community hasn't been discovered yet.
