Be thy wary,
EA may be scary,
Lest ye be too merry!

This is a pack that contains a variety of assets such as shadows, lights, paths, overlays, that I find are useful for any battlemap. Granted here it is in EA so some may go, and new ones will definitely arrive.

You've probably heard me mention this PeaPu's Basics for the past couple of months in the "what we're up to" posts. And you may know that I complained about a problem I wasn't able to overcome. I still haven't had the time to fix it, but I thought why sit on the other goodies that may be in here, so in true Patreon spirit, I'll present you some Early Access!

As for the problem, if you're interested:
Simply speaking, the program I use for drawing (CSP) doesn't work the way I want it to, and I can't get shadows paths (vectors) to perfectly align with the shadow circles. (probably real simple in another program). So be warned the paths aren't perfect and will be changed once I figure this out.

In the meanwhile, I am really interested in what you think of the existing stuff, despite its flaws. What else do you think I should add to the basics pack.

Once I finish it, I plan to make it free for all.

There are 2 downloads:
The PNG version has a slightly larger file size, but should be compatible with everything. (256px per 1x1 ; 1x1 = 5ft x 5ft)

The .dungeondraft_pack is a format made for the Dungeondraft software it's default 1x1 grid is 256px (256px per 1x1 ; 1x1 = 5ft x 5ft) it's images are in the .webp format.

Love the semicircle and quarter circle lights. Those will be very useful for finishing up a high quality version of a map (I normally save my lighting for Foundry, but if I want to pretty up a map for someone else it's nice to be able to do the lighting in DD).

Hello hello I love your stuff, but I have a problem. I've been using paintshop pro for nearly 20 years, and it simply lacks a lot of tools I want to use or if it does have them I have no idea how to use them x.x I love the 'paths' in a lot of your submissions but I have no idea how to make use of them. I've tried the path tools in Krita and Gimp and just can't figure it out or find a good explanation on what to do with them.

Hellu! I'm sorry to hear about the problem. It is true that the `paths` are designed for a specific use. Basically, they're supposed to be used as a brush type. i.e. your brush continuously paints the asset allowing you to form seamless paths of your choosing. Now most commonly I expect people to use the asset in Dungeondraft, that has an inbuilt system to allow for easy manipulation of this type of asset. However, other software may not work as seamlessly with this type of asset. I know for a fact, that you can make it work in Clip Studio Paint (what I use), but with the others I don't have enough information to guide you. Ideally, I wanted to make tiles for each path so that lovely folks like you could use them as well. The only real problem with that was the amount of time it takes to do as such. The reason for that is that they all have to be perfectly seamless between each other.
