Heyo!

Happy Friday! Hope everyone's day is going well. Just wanted to get you this Album Listening Party before LE SSERAFIM drops their next mini album.

Omo. You’ll get to preview another one of our purely random unhinged moments in this edit. If you’ve ever seen Free Willy (a 1993 cinematic treasure) - you will appreciate our completely random side tangent and little performance. I hope it makes you laugh!!

But back to LE SSERAFIM. You guys - I’m so excited we got to do this album because I’ve been wanting to listen to it as a whole for so long. And I’m so glad we did. I just really like them as a group and I love their style and their songs and I love how chaotic and down-to-earth they are.

Like I’ve heard really great things and I’m just thankful we had the chance to react to and watch with you guys.

I really want to watch the “World Is My Oyster” docuseries just to get a better idea of the group. I know that they’re like super scrappy and they’ve had to fight for their place. I want to know more about that story. I find it really inspiring. Maybe because I feel like I’ve had to be that - the scrappy one to fight for my spot.

Anyways, loooove their art direction. LOVE their wardrobe. Love how catchy their songs are. Def want to learn some of these dances. Would love to go to Coachella just to see them (and Ateez). Ugh, so good.

Welp. Hope you enjoy the vid!!

Lmk which songs/MV’s you liked best. Have a great weekend!!

:)

So a little more info, (which you might see on Youtube as well so apologies for re-iterating something you've read) is that Chaewon, Sakura and Yunjin were all on Produce 48 to Make IZ*ONE. Yunjin was eliminated late in the show so she didn't debut with the group. IZ*ONE was a group for 3 years, but since it's a TV-show group they had a limited contract and they disbanded so all the members went back to their own label (some of whom are Yujin and Wonyoung who are now a part of IVE). The other members of the group are either soloists or actress'. Kazuha was scouted while she was a part of a ballet company in the Netherlands and she auditioned from there and was chosen for the group. Eunchae was already a trainee with HYBE as was chosen to join as well and I believe Garam was the same way. Chaewon was called by HYBE and asked to join and she accepted as goes for Sakura and Yunjin. Garam only promoted with the group for 2 weeks before HYBE pulled her from promotions and then later terminated her contract over bullying accusations which turned out to be false. She is now however, preparing to be an actress. Le Sserafim have a youtube documentary that's 4 episodes long and each episode is about 15 to 25 minutes long called "The World is My Oyster" which shows them being picked for the group, interviews about how they are where they are, them preparing for the group up to their debut showcase which gives you more info on how they were chosen, what HYBE was thinking when they were creating the group, and how the girls struggled with insecurities and the constant delay in their debut, practicing the dance and so on. To note however, Garam was edited out of the documentary, which I only assume (not confirmed) is because HYBE doesn't have the rights to use her for the documentary after terminating her contract and they also probably decided it was better to just edit it her out and take those consequences then using her and fans getting mad them for doing that. There are 2023 versions of Fearless and Blue Flame where the girls recorded over Garam's lines. Lastly and sadly you guys didn't hear the full Fearnot song which is a shame because it's such a beautiful fan song and song in general for friendship as well.

Oh wow!! THANK YOU!! These were all things that I was wondering about and wasn't sure about. So you answered SO MANY of my questions!! I actually have the four-part doc lined up in a separate playlist of Guides that we want to get through. I'm really excited about watching that one day. Do you have a link to the full Fearnot song? Maybe we can re-listen to it. I really like LE SSERAFIM and knowing all this just makes me like them even more. Thank you for taking the time to share all this!!

Thank you for the reaction ladies. There are not many girl groups that I listen to but these girls are definitely a part of the shortlist of female groups that I do listen to and thoroughly enjoy. I also enjoy their content because they are a bit chaotic and funny. I will say with this group with Yunjin I believe she actually started on YouTube doing covers being based here in America and girly has an amazing vocal range, I believe she sings opera as well. I think this is why she can sound so different depending on the concept or the genre of music with Chaewon she has such a beautiful tone and a beautiful head voice, her soprano is solid and stable, and really pretty to hear. As an all-around group, I just appreciate their ability to give you great choreography, almost as heavy as some of the male groups, which you don’t typically see with female idols . Another group that does that well too is NMIXX.

Le Sserafim and New Jeans are the only girl groups I listen to regularly. I casually stan girl groups, but I have so many boy groups that I end up gravitating toward them first and run out of time. I love a lot of girl group SONGS, but I don't know much about the groups themselves apart from these two...and memes "Nepotism" =P I cannot TELL you how long as a casual stan it too me to realize that Le Sserafim is an anagram of I'm Fearless. Because I never watched behind stuff or really dove into the groups, I just took the name at face value. Until I'm sitting around listening to Fearless and it clicked. My guy looked over at me like I had lost my mind. I originally thought they were going for a high angels concept (joy of Seraphim) and that just stuck in my brain. The girls have such joyful irreverence.

Yeah I feel like we've covered quite a bit of girl groups but I just am really liking LE SSERAFIM a lot. I really like their music, I really like their style. And honestly, I really like that they're more chaotic and crazy. I feel like they'd be the girlies I'd want to hang out with in high school/college. Plus, I love their whole fight/scrappy/fearless concept behind their music. I feel like their tenacity and raw talent is one of the reasons they really stand out. I'm so glad we ended up doing this album listen. Also I love the vocal notes that you have! Kind of reminds me of the type of comments Elaine would give about different singers. Not my area of expertise but I really appreciate. I saw some of the bits of Yunjin's opera singing - it's amazing!! I love that she's an opera singer and Kazuha is ballerina. Def multi-talented group of girlies! Ima fan :)

NewJeans have been my fav for a loooong time now which is strange because they're so new and have a very small catalog, but the more I dig into LE SSERAFIM the more I'm really liking them!! Like I might like them more than NewJeans?? Maybe so. I like both girl groups a lot but I think I like LE SSERAFIM's style and concept a lot. A little bit more mature, a little bit more *in your face* - Idk. I also like the fact that they're chaotic. I would say I'm a strong BLINK but I did go a little ham at the concert. And honestly I really like Twice' music and was bummed when I missed out on their concert. But yeah, moreso a boy group k-pop stan. ARMYCARATENGENEMOAFEARNOTBUNNY ... that me. Hahaha.
