Hi!

Happy Monday. Hope you all had an amazing, restful, beautiful weekend. I kicked mine off with an episode of NANA Tour with Allison (coming soon!) and a massage. So it was pretty great haha.

And I did some editing. Which includes today's video - a RANDOM PLAY!

This one is mostly girl groups plus a little bit of V of BTS. It's very interesting having run this channel and analyzing music / groups / concepts the way we do. Because honestly I never did that before.

But I think this world mixes in all the things that I love - music, writing, art, production - all the sonic and visual elements PLUS the business side of things - marketing, strategy, brand identity, concepts, messaging, etc. The what is this group about and how does that relate to me? part of being a k-pop consumer.

It's pretty obvious that Allison and I have different musical tastes and gravitate towards certain groups. It's just interesting to see the breakdown with girl groups specifically - not sure if that's because we are girls and we look at things through a specific lens. Or if we just like the guy groups better.

Idk. It's just something to think about.

I do have to say that my fav video out of all this is G(I)-DLE's "Wife" - omo. That one is so much fun! And honestly, they're really growing on me. Their branding / messaging / writing / production is very clear and very different from all the rest. And I find that interesting.

All this on top of what's happening at HYBE vs. MHJ ... woah, I've been knee deep in that craziness!!

Anyways, I give this you this video. Hope you enjoy the reaction!!

All I can say is that One Spark is a grower, I promise!! Thank you for this!!! <3

I honestly want to circle back to Twice because I really do like their music! They've had a few mini albums come out and we haven't done an album listen yet. I feel like I have to warm Allison up to them a bit more but maybe!!

I watched a video once that talked about that demographics that make up girl group fandoms and it honestly put me off to listening to a lot of girl groups that showcase a "younger?" style. It showed that younger girl groups or groups that look younger or have a "cuter" style are followed mostly by younger girls and older men while older groups or groups that have a more mature/sexy style are followed mostly by younger boys and older women. I know that's obviously not the group's fault, but it has made it harder for me to enjoy a lot of girl groups.

I also don't know how much having a daughter that is 11 and feeling like she doesn't look much younger than a lot of the girls in these young groups plays into my mind.
