Content

Hi everyone, and welcome to my new patrons! I'm working on a few Bridget pics this week, including a pic to announce the poll winner.

In the meantime, I'd like your feedback on how I could be running my Patreon page better, and I'd also ask what (if anything) would make you consider using SubStar/Fanbox over Patreon.

Patreon as a source of funding is great, but their ToS enforcement has pushed tons of artists away from the platform--particularly how they monitor creators' websites outside of Patreon, and will demand the removal of any infringing content posted there even after the creator has removed it from their Patreon page.

I try my best to follow their ToS, but they've suspended artists over anime styles and shortstack characters that they consider "too young-looking" before. It's inconsistent and unfair, but that's how it is.

I've already opened up my SubStar and will be opening Fanbox soon. I want to keep my content and tier pricing identical between all 3 platforms (Fanbox posts need to be censored due to Japanese law, but I'll give links to the uncensored Art Packs). However, I'll need to increase my SubStar/Fanbox subscriber counts so that my income isn't dependent on just one platform, especially Patreon.

I've considered releasing SubStar/Fanbox content a few days earlier than Patreon. How would you feel about this?

So yeah, what would make my Patreon page better for you? And do you have any suggestions to encourage people to use SubStar/Fanbox?

Thank you!

As someone who draws myself, I think offering small time-lapse videos (they don't need to be super long or in-depth, just like 1 minute long) are really nice, it gives insight on your creative process and that's really cool. I'd say having more content that gives more information about how you draw or create things would be really nice but I also know that takes up a lot of time. I actually forgot you had a SubscribeStar and honestly I'd rather have all artists that make NSFW shift from Patreon to SubStar, it's much less invasive and allows more creative liberties I feel. I'll shift from here to SubStar since it seems that's what you would prefer. I think releasing content on SubStar before Patreon is a decent way of getting people to shift to it. Take care!

2022-12-30 08:04:52 thanks for the feedback! Clip Studio has input recording for timelapses, but I'd still have to export & adjust the videos to keep their filesize small. I'll need to experiment before committing to them And you don't have to shift to SubStar right now (they're both pay upfront), but for future months I'd appreciate it!
