iOS Store Changes + Poll (Patreon)

Hey guys, Patreon just announced new changes that'll be a pain in the ass for creators and iOS users🙁

Starting November, and thanks to Apple's 30% In-App Purchases (IAP) fee, Creators will have to either increase tier prices for iOS users (which is what I'll be doing) or we'll have to absorb Apple's 30% IAP fee ourselves. This will only affect NEW subscribers who sign up through the iOS App Store, but you can bypass this fee by using the Desktop version of Patreon instead of the app.

This change, along with Patreon's increasingly punishing behavior towards NSFW Artists, is why I ask my subscribers to switch to my SubscribeStar instead!

Patreon isn't giving creators the option to simply disable iOS purchases because Apple threatened to take Patreon off the App Store entirely if they do this. They're also going to remove more niche billing options such as "Charge per Creation" to comply with Apple's payment system.

Personally I would prefer it if Patreon just took its app off the iOS Store. Apple has proven time and time again that they are a terrible company--fighting against Right to Repair, forcing customers to buy proprietary cables, and charging devs an exorbitant fee just to be in their walled garden of an app store. I hate the thought of changing my business just to comply with Apple's policies, and I certainly don't want to give them money.

Patreon cites that iOS is their top platform for fan engagement as an excuse for these changes, but I want to see data from MY OWN Patreon subs...
