It's intersting in this part seeing how each of them deal with the Black Dragons' past giving their backgrounds. Sabellian did go mad just like Deathwing did, becasue when he fell to the Old Gods so did the whole flight. Sabellian was called out of hiding by Deathwing following the end of the Second War. Deathwing believed that the black dragonflight could replenish themselves on Draenor, away from the other dragonflights, striking up an alliance with Ner'zhul's Horde. Once on Draenor, the black dragons settled into Gorgrond and Frostfire Ridge. They were not there long before they were attacked by Gruul, his offspring, and a small group of Alliance Expedition fighters. The eggs were destroyed and Deathwing was forced to flee from battle.Sabellian was left as one of the survivors of this battle. As the planet was destroyed by Ner'zhul's wanton opening of Portals, many of the dragons were killed in the resulting explosion of Draenor. Many of the eggs that survived were mutated, turning into nether dragon eggs, though Sabellian and his clutch survived. Somehow he and few reminding Blacks overcome the maddness. From than till Dargonflight. Sabellian and his clutch fought endless with Gronn and Ogres of Outland, until they returned to The Dragon Isles. Which is why he a real dick atm. Than we have Wrathion, being the first Black Dragon that was "born" free of the Old Gods's maddness in ages. The ambitious red dragon Rheastrasza, also known by her goblin guise Rhea, traveled to the Badlands to research the black dragonflight and to find a way to purify them. She hired a group of mercenaries, and has captured the black dragon, Nyxondra, to force her to lay eggs for the experiments, in hopes of laying an uncorrupted black dragon egg. It was later revealed that Nyxondra was in fact a sister of Onyxia, and thus a daughter of Deathwing himself, the grandfather of Wrathion. Eventually, Rheastrasza succeeded in creating a purified black dragon egg with an ancient titan device, a black whelp corpse, a wild black dragon egg and one of Nyxondra's eggs. She was however killed by Deathwing in the end, who was after the egg. The egg he destroyed, however, was not the purified one, but Rheastrasza's own egg. Six months later, shortly before he was born, the egg was stolen by the assassins of Ravenholdt. Consequently, the red dragonflight sent the red drake Mostrasz and a rogue adventurer to find it. The trail led them to Ravenholdt Manor, in the northeast of Hillsbrad Foothills, where it was revealed that Wrathion has hatched and was now in charge of the whole operation. Though a whelping, Wrathion was wise and powerful beyond his years. Free of Deathwing's control, he saw with clear eyes what had become of the black dragons, and recognized the threat they posed to Azeroth. He knew of only one way to purify the flight: death. Thus, he launched a brutal campaign to assassinate the world's remaining black dragons during the Cataclysm expansion. This bring us to Ebyssian. Shortly after the War of the Ancients (10,000 years ago), the tauren hero Huln Highmountain used the Hammer of Khaz'goroth, a power Titan tool to banish Deathwing from the Broken Isles. Afterward, Igrul the Scalebane and him came across a batch of black dragon eggs in the back of Neltharion's Vault. Igrul argued that they should all be destroyed, but Huln instead used the Hammer to purify one of the eggs, permanently freeing it from the corruption of the Old Gods. Soon, it hatched, and the black whelp emerged. Huln declared that he would call it "Ebonhorn" after its tiny black horns. While Ebyssian apparently chose his own name to go by, in gratitude he has since faithfully served the Highmountain family under the guise of Spiritwalker Ebonhorn, guiding each of Huln's descendants for the next 10,000 years. During their reigns the High Chieftain only learned his true identity after their secretive ascension ceremony. Only showing himself to Wrathion during the end of the Legion expansion.
