"Dragonfist Explosion" is Goku's strongest attack, but he can only do it as a SSJ3 and he's only ever used it in this movie, and various video games (presumably he developed it some time after beating Buu. But the power scaling in Dragonball Super made it useless). I think the directer just wanted to give him a cool technique we've never seen before. And it actually counts as literally the only technique Goku uses that he invented himself. I feel like this movie was more sophisticated than the others, and had a lot more plot than just "let's find a way to skip to the fighting."

Can't wait for Super! I loved it far more than I ever did the Buu arc to be completely honest. It has its problems, but it's good fun.

These movies were a nostalgia trip man. good times! I hope you enjoy super as much as I did! The super movies are fun and the arcs in super vary from "holy shit this is amazing to" to "oh yeah, that was pretty fun" if you just have fun with it, it's an amazing ride. Thanks for the content!!

To explain Bio broly in short as to why is the most hated db movies, is they took broly from second coming his worst version remove all his kakarot quotes or anything that made him cool and popular, then they dip him into green bio slime which makes him look like a swamp monster from a classic Godzilla movie. I wish i was making this shit up

Out of all the old DBZ movies, this is probably the one with the most coherent plot. It’s more than just fighting. And I’m glad you guys are starting with super! Can’t wait for some of the future arcs you guys will wittiness.

I am super stoked for you guys to watch super. But I think you guys should watch the last Z movies and skip to episode 29 on super. The first two arcs are retelling of the movies and the arc are worst than the movies

That's what they're planning to do. They're starting the first episodes before BOG, then the movie, then the episodes before ROF, then that movie, then episode 29 and onward.

A little bummed Bio Broly didn't make the cut. I won't pretend like it's great or anything. But It would have been neat for you to see the scene that leads into fusion reborn.

I love how the abridged series somehow recognizes this movie as part of it's canon. Abridged Future trunks mentions that he got the sword from Tapion in the History of Trunks special. Which makes me wonder how THAT story went.

while I was watching, I was trying to figure out why this felt more dramatic than fusion reborn. Finally hit me as the credits rolled, you guys were listening to the Dub score (US audio). Man, music really does make a difference some times Hope you're enjoying Super, the next 2 movies are going to be fantastic. I really like their plan with Super. I think it's better than just jumping straight into the Super movies tbh, which is something I totally recommended initially.

The finisher goku used at the end is called Super Dragon Fist,a classic finisher goku I think haven’t used since he was a little kid

Bardock father of goku is a must watch dbz movie as well. This movie is really, really fun & i love videl & gohan, they ABSOLUTELY remind me of you two <3! Also they way they're watching super including the films is perfect. Resurrection F does it way better than the actual anime did. Also make sure you watch battle of gods the extended, idk if anyone told you but the shorter theatrical version doesn't explain certain things in the film.

I always tell people that the movies aren't cannon because a bulk of them can't be placed in the timeline. Some of them can, but they still fit a little messy. TFS really worked with what they had to try to force them into the timeline, except when they werent...like the Christmas specials. The movies aren't exactly linked per say, but there was a very clear lead into fusion reborn from bio broly. It's not that important honestly. They way Fusion reborn was written almost totally retcons the scene in bio broly
