The finale of Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

Oh man, I rewatched this series along with you guys and I feel just as empty as I did when I first finished it. No other show has hit me quite like this one, but you two were able to put much more of a positive spin on the ending than I have in the past, that makes me feel better. While I wish there was a second season, I respect that they decided to stop here, as it probably wouldn’t have had as much of an impact if they made more stories. Thanks a lot for reacting to it, chooms!

My favorite fan theory for cyberphycosis cure is love, it's proven many times like main sorta snapping back to reality and David recovering his psychosis at the end.

I played the game before watching the anime, so as soon as Atom Smasher gets mentioned I knew what was coming. I still liked how it ended though. "I really want to stay at your house" playing during the ending was great. Being associated with the ending makes it sadder, but I still love the song.

Adam Smasher is in the video game since the anime is the prequel. I recommend playing the game to take revenge on Adam Smasher! There’s some characters in the anime that appears in the game, it showed it a short glimpse of her in episode 2 or 3.

Two things to check out - the ending credits song, "Let You Down," has a full music video that tells an entire story set in this world. It's short, but very good, and since it takes place before Edgerunners you'll get to see some familiar faces one more time. You should also definitely play Cyberpunk 2077 after having finished this. Edgerunners takes place in 2076 and you can find quests and items related to the show within the game. David's jacket, Rebecca's shotgun, a short quest that puts you in touch with Falco - all nice little touches. You can even go to the Afterlife bar, where legends of Night City are immortalized as the drinks on the menu, there you can find the 'David Martinez' on the menu and drink to his legend.

I feel the show does Adam Smasher's terrifying reputation so much more justice than the game does, at least based on the character's lore. He's supposed to be a nigh unstoppable killing machine that has the skill to take out targets with surgical precision and the firepower to leave a trail of devastation if he's not specifically forbidden from making a mess. He's a functional cyber psycho augmented with the firepower of a heavy tank... Yet in the game any moderately decent build can mop the floor with him using barely any effort.

Adam Smasher is the Zhekov's gun of any Cyberpunk story. You mention him at any point, and that means he's going to be used, and when that happens, he will wreck everything. He's been doing that for nearly a century. There aren't many characters in this universe older than him from what I know. Anyways, the show is a prequel to the Cyberpunk 2077 game with Keanu Reeves, and now Idris Elba with the expansion.

That's not even a fan theory, Mike Pondsmith wrote out a detailed post on Reddit once about cyberpsychosis as a disorder. IIFC, Everyone has a inherent susceptibility which originally was representative of a stat called "humanity". He compared it to alcoholism and drug abuse, where not everyone who drinks is going to end up in the gutter, but those who have a need to do more and more tend to hit a point where they do. David originally had a humanity stat that was very high at the start, he had a loving mother, a career path, and all that really was rough for him was he was just a average joe who went to a rich person's school. But even after he lost that, he still managed to be a good person, he got a replacement family, a father figure, and even a girlfriend. Until it started going to hell. His humanity started to tank, and he started going psycho. Lucy's kiss was something that helped slingshot him back, but at that point it was already too late. So yes, if love is what defines your humanity, then love is what counters psychosis.

Are yall planning on reacting to the music video? Its a bit of a prequel following a different Netrunner.

Flitzferkeugah

There's a memorial now where you can find messages Lucy left behind before going to the Moon.

Skyler Van

True. They did buff him a bit recently. I fought him when I was at max level recently after the DLC came out and he didn't go down as easily as he used to.

BlackVelvet Prospero

The story does continue in Cyberpunk 2077 where your character IS the special person David wasn't able to be. And yes you get to fight Adam Smasher, so you are the one who gets to avenge David and Rebecca.
